What car should I get?

i have a 2004 audi A4 1.8t

its a fuck load of fun....

but a subaru impreza wagon is also a sick car, if you dont get the bitch low end ones

Are these new cars, are they used, what is your budget?

I kinda need to know those to give you a better response which is why I always dislike these threads because people just shout out WRX all the time without thinking.

I Have an Audi A4 and love it dearly but it costs a shit ton to upkeep.

let me know some more about what your finances look like and I can help you better.

wait, what the hell are you doing getting such a nice car anyway? aren't you 16?

for the record, i drive the A4 a lot, but MY actual car is a 1992 bmw that doesn't start if i stall.

and that being said, don't get any of those if your not going to drive stick....

Whats your price range slash criteria?

If you're looking into getting a Mazda 6 and a WRX, check out the Mazda Speed 3. I heard it out drives the WRX.

WRX, and not just to agree with the rest of NS. Audi, especially if you're looking into a used car, is going to be super expensive, both in insurance and upkeep, after about 120xxx they start to develop problems, and the turbos suck. Mazda 6 or 3 whatever you said,, pretty fun little cars but they dont have the awd turbo engine, little less power over all. Acura's are sweet, but like the audi they are going to suck for insurance seeing as they are considered a luxury sports car. The WRX will cost in insurance, but the engines are strong, and they will last for ages and provide tons of fun. I'm not sure where you live (I should have check your profile) but if you're in the states check out nasioc.com, you can find some sick WRX's with a ton of upgrades for under 10g

also, i'm going to go ahead and say honda's are really easy to fix by yourself.. if you want to get into that sorta thing.

and they literally last forever.. we have a civic that has 300k miles on it and it still runs strong

I'm going to agree with this one. Honda's are rediculously reliable. My mom's Pilot has lasted 6 years, 110 miles, with not that many repairs until the past year or so. So, judging by your apparent price range, you might as well go with a Civic, cheaper than the cars on your list. Acura's are also very reliable, I love all Japanese cars. Honda, Toyota, and Acura, are all great companies.

since there's no specs on what you're looking for im gonna go with a '66 Shelby 427 AC Cobra

looking for speed? or reliability? speed.. prob the wrx and def not the mazda sex. they are pretty slow. BUT might be the most reliable..

i shouldnt say new engine

the engine was replaced... and the one in it now has at least a hundred thousand miles on it

..either way

reliability = not needing to replace expensive key components of the car..

clutch is one thing.. entire engine is another completely

I appreciate all the advice and suggestions.

I'm also gunna add these to the list:

Mitsibushi Lancer

Mitsibishi Eclipse

Mazda 3 Speed

cross those all off, non of them will compare to a suby/audi/acura

where is the money coming from? and what years do you plan on looking into? brand new? or like older...?

I've driven both and I enjoyed the Mazda more. It just felt more nimble to me and more fun to drive. The sti, however, is a whole different beast. The only downsides to the Mazda are that the new one is BUTT ugly and it's not AWD for snow driving.

so then would my A4 with 203K on it with the original engine and only it's 2nd clutch count as reliable?

Any car can be reliable if you take care of it. I hate how people just assume the boxer engines in the Subbie is fucking cash and how Subbies are the only thing to drive on this site. Might as well be a Subaru forum

lancer or evo? if just lancer then fuck that.

basically you have WRX and speed 3. you can get a much newer speed 3 for cheaper than the WRX and it will out perform the WRX stock. only thing is it isn't AWD which does suck but it is honestly a FWD monster and new performance strides are being made for it. honestly if you have the money to get same year then go WRX just for the AWD capabilities it has.

but dude where are you getting the money for these cars? you are only like 16.

ummm the speed 3 will out drive and out perform every one of the cars he has listed for a whole hell of a lot cheaper. you have no idea what you're talking about with that statement.

did i imply that? oh no, seems i didnt.

i meant that a few cheap repairs over a ton of miles = reliable

not needing a new engine over the course of 100k miles.

obviously some things are going to go bad, but they shouldn't be huge repairs.

also, i'm wondering where you saw that i said subaru engines were reliable..

get the a4 everyone has a wrx their sick if you ralley of if your 13 and like cars completly becauserace car drivers have them not trying to talk down the wrx its a super nice car and performs great but if you want somthing that is a little fancier and has the same pefomance get the a4

Audi, just make sure the timing belt and waterpump have been replaced if there is 80K+ miles. They are very reliable cars if they are taken car of and not beaten on.

Get a WRX, i just got a 2009 WRX like a week ago and I effing love the car!!!! It is so much fun to drive, I test drove an audi A4 and they arent that fun to drive. WRXs are fun to drive, especially when the turbo kicks in and the speedometer just flies up. I have heard bad things about the mazda 6, I had a friend who had one and it was nothing but trouble. He had tires go bad within 15,000 miles cause the wear pattern was effed up. Acuras are cool, but not really a skiers car.
