What brought you back to skiing after your 1st time?

Basically, after skiing your 1st time what brought you back to try it again?

For me personally it was just the thrill of riding "fast" at 20mph when I was 10. And also not having an action/extreme sport that I was into, and wanting to pick one up. So I just continued with skiing to satisfy that need :P

What about you guys? What brought you back too it?

the car seat in the back of my moms car. it wierds me out that so many people on this site remember learning to ski

My 3 siblings and I started as soon as we could walk. We are teaching my niece to ski right now. she learned to walk at christmas a few years ago and she was on skis by the middle of that january.

I cant imagine learning and falling. i probably would have quit if i learned at 9

I snowboarded for 2 years and never really got good at it. I could hit small boxes and jumps but never felt comfortable. I switched to sking and right away felt better. I was going down blue squares and hitting boxes by the second day. /claim

I was about 4, and it was the thrilling of doing "chips" ("fries" for those of you not from the UK) instead of "pizza" down the nursery slope with the instructor giving me hell

First time skiing i hated it. my rents put me in ski school and i rebelled. so my dad then taught me how to ski. i didnt even like it that much but he made me keep going, and after the first few times i loved it. Best decision my dad has ever made for me

9 or 10 is still an "early" start. I didn't start skiing until I was 19. But I have to say that I love the speed and the "free" feeling of being on the hill. Plus you can go have fun skiing by yourself or with your friends.

I started skiing the same year i learned how to walk. My dad used to be a big skier and i loved skiing with him. He was the one that made sure i knew how to ski great by the time i hit double digits.

just because i fuckin loved it. and the first day i literally plowed down the flattest slope youve ever seen at a little quicker than walking pace, i somehow found it exhilerating. i was 11 btw

Parents, DUHH....

Seriously though, it was a love for snow and snowmobiling; and my dad not letting me follow through with the purchase of what would have been my first sled which I had been saving up for and working for a few years prior. I had only skied at school ski trips and went with a buddy a few times in and around grade 6 and 7. And after my dad shut me down as a far as buying a sled goes, I had gotten to some awesome ski edits from some snowmobile edits on YouTube.

Sled edits:

Which led me to edits like so:

the feeling of stomping a new trick for the first time is the best feeling ever. i wish i had started earlier than 16

I was a snowboarder for seven, so when I picked up skiing I knew it would be rewarding eventually

and all my friends were learning with me
