What Bindings Should I Get

Let me start this off by saying that I hate making a thread like this but after searchbarring around for 15 minutes and not finding much and its getting close to time for me to sleep i am just going to make this thread.
I'm buying Liberty Phil Larose Pros for next year and im wondering what a good binding to go with this ski would be.
I want something thats going to be durable but still lightweight and prefferably pretty cheap.
Ive been thinking about the Look Px12 Jibs (but they are a bit heavy), Rossi Scratch's and Head Mojos.
ill give out karma to any helpful responses. thanks

Maybe you should develop some better searchbarring skills then, because there are hundreds of threads on the same thing, including at least 2 on the first page of gear talk

hey man ill try to help you out!
id suggest a pair of pivot 12s if you can get your hands on themive found them super solid and never pre-released on me beforethey are fairly heavy but well worth it id say
or id suggest a pair of griffons or jestersSUPPER light and have held me in but do not feel quite as solid as the pivots(i dont know if you get what i mean)
look into these bindings both super sick
also the STH series is pretty sick as wellbut i wouldent suggest them unless you get the 16 dinone because of the 3 bolts in the toe instead of 4
peace man ihope i helped you out a little bit

thanks dude. that did help me out a bit however i really dont want a heavy binding so that eliminates that pivots and the jesters and griffons although sick are very expensive.
but ill give you karma for a positive attitude and you did give me good advice. thanks
anyone else

I gave you good advice!!!there are sooo many threads on here about which bindings to get!!!click on advance search and type in bindings. That will help you out a lot!

i thought pivots were light. arent they considerably lighter than px12? i have dibs on some p12's and wanna know if they are light and durable.

Like said check out the STH series. I have the 14's, and they are pretty light while still being fairly strong. Never given me too much trouble, and have held up good throughout the season. If you are looking at Salamon than whatever you do don't get the z12's.

Theres alot of good bindings out there.

Obviously the FKS's... but they're a bit harder to find. 155's sound about right, or the 120's (vertical release).

I have the Salomon STH 14's, and they're great. I'm 6'4 205 and I haven't had any problems with them. I ride at a din of 11 but no big deal. If you CAN go for the STH 16, better screw pattern.

My brother has 4Frnt Deadbolt 12s on his Thalls and theyre good supposedly, never seen a pre release, and Rossi 140 Ti's on his Chronics. He likes the Rossi's more, more solid feel to them.

Jester's and Griffons are popular, but I have heard about problems with them in my shop. Them breaking, pre releasing etc etc, but I do see some of the pro's riding them, and they wouldnt use them if they sucked.

Sorry if that was too general.

ya ill keep that in mind.
its between FKS, Griffons or PX12 jibs, thats what i had this season and they served their purpose. I always thought that the salomon bindings like the STH14 were heavy, maybe im wrong?

sth series bindings are definitely my favorite. i have mounted sth 16's on 5 of my last 7 pairs of skis. they are the shit. i like them way more than fks bindings. although you probably won't be in the market for the 16 din model, you should check out the sth 12 or 14, like many have suggested already. the three hole toe piece may scare some people but i've never seen a single pair rip out or give anyone trouble in any other way (and i work in an area shop and have mounted countless pairs of these to park ripper's skis). they're pretty light and are bombproof. also, i have never had mine prerelease in three seasons of using them. i really can't say enough good things about the sth bindings from salomon. buy those and be stoked.

2.9lbs for fks or so compared to 2.3lbs for jesters? ya real heavy. Binding weight does not matter unless its for touring!

my friend rode griffons all year and they held up fine at 6'1" around 160lbs

but the only reason for it would be weight, and you would be paying more for a lighter less durable binding.

i got a pair of minty scratch 120's for 20 bucks for my watch lifes then i sold em and picked a pair of minty fks 155's for 100

anyone know any good cheap sites that still have these in stock. i think im gonna try and get STH 12's or 14's

seriously? have fun breakin' your solly 12 dins.. just buy some px12tis instead if you're gonna do that.. they won't break on you after 10 days.. or even better grab some p12s like everybody said pivots have been my favorite bindings ever for park.

unless you have actually experienced the sth 12's whats your basis on that

people say the 16 is the only good one but i have had sth 14's all year with no problems

z12's suck dick but imo sth 12's are above px12's

If you dont have a ton of money to dish out go with the px12 its a solid light weight binding but if you have the extra money deff invest in a pair of griffins or jesters.

i've played with them quite a bit.. my shop sells solly bindings. they feel like cheap plastic, and i've broken every pair of S912ti I have ever ridden. px12's have not broken on me yet, and I've had way more days on them than any of the salomons I've ridden before they broke.

ok im gonna bump this because i finally have the money and id like to buy them today. i have it narrowed down to a few though
-Look PX12 Jibs-Rossignol SAS 100-Rossignol SAS 110
And this might be a dump question but im assuming the rossignol SAS is the Rossi Scratch binding correct?
Anyways which of these three sounds the best. I haven't heard much about the Rossi SAS but i assume its a good binding. Any more info anyone can give me on em?
thanks +k

Out of those three, the only solid option IMO is the PX12's.

I would never recommend a binding with under 12 DIN to be mounted on a park ski, regardless to whether or not you will be using all of the DIN right away.

Plus those Rossi binders just look cheaply made. Again, that's IMO.

ya thats what i was thinking that rossi might break earlier on me while the PX's will last quite a bit longer.
i just know that the rossi ones are most likely a quite a bit lighter

They are the same binding indeed. Only difference is the name on the binding. Some of the older scratch bindings have the Axitec 2 glider while the SAS bindings use only a teflon glider. Simplicity means less chance of breaking.

I had 1 pair of Griffons come back to my shop last year because of a broken track when a guy landed switch. Get Jesters and you may avoid that problem.

Sollys are nice and light. Haven't seen any break, but they feel (and I said feel!) a little more cheaply made than the Rossi and Look bindings.

Tyrolias are solid, but have had people complain that they are heavy. Other than that, their diagonal heel release is nice as is their multi-direction release on their toe piece.

My preference? I like Look and Rossi bindings because of their solid mount pattern. The Griffon and Jester have a much narrower mount pattern to allow the ski to flex more naturally, but I find them to be a bit less responsive.

Possibly. They definitely don't have lifters like the regular Axial2/PX bindings. Any weight difference is negligible. Half a pound doesn't compare to the snow that cakes up on your skis, boots and bindings.
