What bindings for backcountry?

I am thinking of getting some bluehouse maestros next year, but i dont know what bindings to get. I need a binding that will be fine for skiing in the resort and for touring. Something strong that wont break would be nice

im assuming little short tours/sidecountry stuff? if so then something like dukes would be fine, you get the strength and things of an alpine binding, with some touring capability, and the weight wont hold you back too bad.

freerides if you are looking to tour longer distances. because dukes are really heavy

k thanks. i will mostly be doing small little tours and not too many long ones. So i guess the dukes would probably be better.

yeah they have the advantage of taking more abuse than lighter touring bindings, but for anything longer than short sidecountry stuff the weight kinda sucks. are you light? or planning to jump off much? because if you dont weigh too much, and arent planning on hucking your meat off anything very big, freerides would be fine.

hmm, yeah im not the biggest touring expert on here. tgr might be a better bet. or someone like Aenigma or nomensteven on here

ive met people who have exploded fr+s hucking cliffs and switched to naxo with no problems but the general consensus seems to be that naxos suck and fr+s are better. if your not doing more than 2 day tours i would go with dukes.

I just demo'd a pair of dynfit boots and bindings at the industry demo days last week. I've been touring on dukes for 2 years now, and I know now what I have to do. They were light, they lock in, they tour easy, the boots rocked (used my own intuition liner). I'm sold that these are the best for sure.

I'm waiting for someone to come out with something better and/or more affordable than the BCA Trekker. I can't justify spending $175 on a piece of plastic and ropes.

Yeah, I know they show up on TGR all the time, but still..

Stoked to be able to swap em out on one pair of sticks

Have to keep switching legs as the duke one weighs more.
