I'd rather have someone criticize it than praise it and say it's perfect, because it's no where near perfect. If I were to knit pick it, here's what's wrong with it...
1. The coffee cup to the left is not entirely in frame, which really fucks the whole thing up.
2. I should have turned the handles so they would be facing the wall, I want the focus of the picture to be on what's inside the coffee cups, not the cup itself.
3. The picture isn't perfectly horizontal if looking at the wall, there is a slight tilt.
4. I could pick it apart all day, but that's not the point of photography. You're supposed to have fun while shooting, and I certainly had a blast taking the pictures I took that day. The coffee shop I took it at wants a copy of it so they can hang it up so I'm really looking forward to that.
But there are some things that I really like about this picture. There are two sources of lighting in the picture which gives it the warmness that I really wanted, along with the light from huge windows, highlighting the rest of the picture. The exposure is great overall. I also really like the reflection of the cups off of the glass, which really accentuates the handles. I wasn't originally planning on doing that, but I really like the look of it.
My photography teacher told us that when we copy the style of a picture, we should always try and make the picture better than the original, and I think I did that wonderfully. I'm pretty proud of the picture. There is a ton of detail, and I got the focus that I was looking for, for the most part. Obviously there is stuff I can improve on, but there always is when taking photographs.
