What are the chances of becoming a well known or pro skier?

How many kids actually become recognized skiers and stay with skiing through life? And also, at what point would it be ok to accept that that won't happen as with most people?

If you have to ask this question you should probably give up.

Jk keep trying, the sky is the limit, anything is possible if you put your mind to it

jk just quit

The "chances" are just going to be the averages. And if you're going to take those averages, you're just an average dude. You're already accepting defeat.

You can accomplish anything you want. If you really push yourself and stay original I think your chances should be high. Especially with advent of the internet. You just gota work for it.

To answer the question directly. I don't think those kind of stats exist for our side of the industry.. I guess you could try do the math.

You gotta know a guy who might know another guy who might be pro.

But really that guy is just a homeless person named bob who lives in the alley of that guy.

i feel like if you have to ask, your chances are not good. but there are a lot of ways to go pro in the industry without being a pro skier. Figure out what you wanna do, apply it to the snow sport industry - then who knows.

Outside of Newschoolers:

1000000000000000 : 1

To become newschoolers famous:

Not very hard if you produce edits and practice skiing for a few years. And have a unique and different style / creative ideas. I don't really care for standard robot tricks that are difficult but overused and done to death such as 2 pretz 2, back four, cork 7 blunt. That's why henrik and Phil are everyone's favorite skiers because they never do standard tricks like those

Unlikely, but lucky breaks happen. A rep can notice you one year, and the next you are riding helis with your heros. But the odds are worse than lottery.

Think about Steve stepp, he can barely double but he is very well known, just become popular in the ski industry and you will pretty much be pro

Thanks NS! I'm not really wanting to know for myself but just wanting to know what everyone thinks about it. I ski to have fun, and entertain whatever thought I want about where it will take me, so I was just kinda asking in general not for myself.

Think about it this way. How many skiers do you know? How many pro skiers do you know?

Odds are never in your favour. But honestly if you take advantage of every opportunity and variable to your benefit chances are you will become a good skier and people will notice. Enjoy the ride.

It's easy to be a well known skier, just gotta ski a lot and hang around with the mtn villagers...

Then get a gopro and there you have it!!

Ski all the time, push yourself to tricks you haven't done or haven't ever been done. Make awesome videos. Look at the bunch and real skifi. Two extremely big names, they don't toss ultra tech tricks both ways (some exceptions). They just get super creative, break the boundaries of what everyone thinks is impossible, and do tricks that very few can do.
