What are the best Xbobx 360 Games?

Asking for an xbox 360, I haven't played video games since like 5 years ago. What games should I get. Or should I buy a PS3?
 
From my experience Skate 3, COD MW3, NBA 2K11, GTA 4, Halo3/reach

Ive heard skyrim is badass and if you like football games ive heard madden 12 is good, also battle field 3 is a fucked up good game too ive only played it once though.
 
Since you arent paying for it, ps3. Honestly, it last longer and online is free

Maybe skyrim

Although if youre going to ask for any games for christmas, ask for battlefield/Modern warfare or skyrim

and then of course all of the football/basketball/baseball games and need for speed, but those arent as fun as they used to be
 
Jiblife is pretty sick...If you can pick up a copy of Halo 3, with the servers for Halo 2 being shut down it's the best option for multiplayer imo. GTA and Saints Row will keep you entertained for hours and Skate is awesome.

I dont know why i have 20 days of play time on my modern warfare 2 , maybe because its fucking good? If not, skate 3 will keep you entertained for houuuuurrs!

Fallout 3, or New Vegas if you want more a westerny game, or skyrim if you want more of a midevil magic game

Forza 4

Mass effect 1 and 2, 3 when it comes out

Here's IGN's top 25 list which they released just this September. Obviously this falls big games aren't on there, but a bunch of great games to check out with descriptions and reviews.
 
get whichever system your friends are on, they're both great systems. then get (in my opinion)

skyrim

bf3

mw1

halo 3/reach (if xbox)

skate 3

uncharted (ps3)

that should keep you entertained for a long time.
 
Im assuming your going to get Xbox Live

If your not, I would avoid games like the CoD series or halo, If you really want to play them just rent them then. Most of there popularity comes from there mutiplayer.

But Id also reccomend

Skyrim - of course, it fuckin kicks ass

GTA4

Borderlands

Mass Effect series

Assassins Creed series

Forza

I think I'm only going to get 2, maybe 3 games.

I'm thinking about Skyrim since it seems to be getting a lot of hype but I'm not too into the whole magic thing. You think its still worth getting? Is it a lot of walking around or does it keep you interested the whole time?

I want to get a shooter game also, I'm deciding between Battlefield 3, MW 3, and Gears of War 3. They all look pretty good. Keep in mind I don't plan on playing live so I would just be doing the campaign. Any suggestions?

If I get a third game I'm looking at Portal 2 cause it seems to be getting a ton of hype. I'm also interested in possibly getting GTA 4, Red Dead Redemption, or LA Noire. The last time I played video games I bought a PS2 just so I could play San Andreas. I'm really into like crime/westerns/boardwalk empire type shit so these games seem to really appeal to me.

Does it make more sense to get a game on the 'best of 2011' lists (critically acclaimed games) or does it make more sense to go with what I'm interested in?

Also is it worth going and playing an older game (GTA 4 or Red Dead Redemption) or are the newer games like way better graphics and just overall better?
