What are snowbird groomers like?

For groomers you are pretty limited. There is Lupine Loop in MB, Chip's run on the Peruvian side, and Election to Big Emma on the gad side... there are of course a few more but those are the main ones.

If it has not snowed in a while things can get pretty mankey... but even when the snow is beat, Chip's run with all of its side booters is still a lot of fun.
 
i totally understand that im not going there for the groomers, i will be there for a full season, and obviously there isnt a foot of blower every day
 
But if you learn Snowbird, and are willing to do a little work, you can find a foot of blower every day.
 
Yeah there really isn't much groomed at the bird. Groomers are basically there just for cat tracks so you can traverse the mountain quickly. There are a few others, like others mentioned, so there is atleat one easy way down. Snowbird gets skied out pretty fast. You can ski powder for a while if you know the order how to attack it and know the more secret type stashes. If you stick to the more defined runs you will be skiing crud and pseudo bumps most of the time. If u r not a big mountain type rider, and dont like hitting natural features (aka u love groomers and parks), I wouldn't go near the bird.
 
im going there for the steeps and "big mountain" terrain, not a park skier at all. im was just curious as to what goes on other than the most appealing parts of snowbird
 
I had over 60 days just at the bird last year, and I can't really remember a day that wasnt fun, and I know all those days werent powder days. After big storms it normally takes them a a day or two to get everything open so you really are powder hunting for days after a storm. But on the those days we haven't had snow in while I usually end up jibbing natural features, playing on cliffs, Billy goating through areas to find new terrain. There are so many good skiers and riders there it is usually easy to find something to push your abilities even if there isn't powder everywhere.
 
I'm sure you will love the bird. I got my pass this year to Brighton instead of the bird, but got a ten punch to the bird. Hit me up if ya need someone to shred with...
