i am doing some backcountry resurch in vt in order to find a couple more powder stashes before winter rolls around and i was wondering what it the minimum angle of slope reqiured to keep up your speed and powder. most of the mountains i am looking at are between 28 and 38 degrees. I looked around the net and didnt find anything. Just wondering what ns has to say on the subject.

when youve got 2 feet of fresh, 35 degrees feels like flat. that being said, anything upwards of 35 is relatively fast and easy to ski in deep snow. if you are only expecting like a foot of snow, then 35 will most likely due.

WTF wouldn't the record be 89 degrees? People go down faces that are like cliffs and they dop cliffs.

it all depends on the snow. In utah, you can ski things that are like 20 degrees and keep up your speed. it's super light snow, so that probably matters. I would aim for 30 plus though.
