What about abortion?? click dont be afraid

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I wanted to express my stance on it. I was talking to my mom the other day, i'm 13 years old, and this is the first time she ever told me that she had a miscarriage. She was heart broken at the time, very very upset. I have a sister who is 3 years older than me, and my mom had her miscairrage when my sister was about 1 year old. The baby died when my mom was 4 months pregnant. I can't even imagine how devestating that is. After hearing this story my opinion on abortion has changed. I hate to see high school kids ruin their lives by having kids, and women being raped. That would be different, and I am still even iffy then with abortion. I just can't imagine killing a baby, completely ruining their chance at life. I just think that that is awful. You have no idea when people use abortion as a form of regular birth control, that upsets me. I think life itself is so valuable. What if my mom had an abortion, I wouldn't even be alive right now. I'm not the preaching type, and I'm not overwelmingly Christian, but this is one thing I feel very strongly about. People who just fuck around and have unprotected sex whenever they want, then they find out they're pregnant and just automatically get an abortion, I can't stand these people. I think it's almost as bad as murdering another human being. Not quite as bad, but I think people take life for granted, I for one refuse to ever be one of these people./rant

well you realize that a miscarriage and an abortion are completely different issues man

When you plan on having a baby, you and your partner have been trying to have a child, you have planned out and saved up to raise this child, of course you will be devastated to find out that this baby has died.

But an abortion, this is for unplanned events, and is only done within the early stage (i think only the first two trimesters). People may not be prepared for a child. they may not have enough money, not be old enough for the responsability, may not want to have a child, a many other reasons. No body really uses this as regular form of birth control...

Its terrible that your mom had a miscarraige man, but its completely different than an abortion. And if your mother had an abortion when you were concieved, you wouldn't be here today, but im sure there would have been a very good reason for that. its better than getting attached to a child that you cannot even raise.

Obviously they are different things. But it goes hand in hand as far as someone's life, you know? My point was that people take life for granted, and an abortion is just cleaning up your mistakes pretty much. It's obviously needed at times because there is no way that the child can be raised. But people still use it too often because they are iresponsible and couldn't use protection. It really shouldn't be used at all if people could just use the precautions that are needed in order to not have a child. Obviously some cases are different, but I was reffering to the people who were careless, and took life for granted.

so your staying that, as punishment for being careless, these people should have to raise a child? and this child should have to suffer and live with parents that don't want them because some people thought it would be smart to make not having an abortion a form of punishment for being careless

Not exactly, but people know that theyre putting themselves at risk. I was kind of stating that people wouldn't have to put themselves in that situation, if they were more responsible.

ok

but not everyone is that responsible

are you a fan of not having premarital sex too? i mean shit happens. condoms break, birth control gets forgotten. or people are just stupid...

either way, this shouldnt be a lesson or a punishment for those people...

I am pro choice but not because i support people killing fetuses but because the government should not be allowed to tell people what they can and cannot do with there own bodies (conidering a fetus is attached to it).

The whole "life is precious" argument is BS in my opinion. All life is equally precious. Human life is no more precious than the life of a cow or dog or a fish or anything else. We just view human life to be more precious because we have an emotional attachment.

Now im not really trying to make a point one way or another here, but basically, humans are no more special than any other life on this planet. Just because we are the most intelligent doesnt mean anything.

Im probably going to get torn apart for this argument and people are going to think that i dont think people should kill bugs or whatever, which is not what im trying to say. Im just trying to play the devils advocate here with the whole "life is precious" view.
