What 2 throw come spring

hi all I am no longer bad at rails. thats it. learning how to 2 out both fs and bs

BUT

it is my first year in park and i can do rails and threes. spring is here at my park and i want to do something cool and separate from my already existing (small) bag of tricks

suggestions for something to try as new trick territory to break into?

note:

i still am going to continue my progression as normal anyways... improve at rails; 3s with grabs; sw 1s stuff like that and all

270 on

if you have a tube at your park try to learn frontswaps and backswaps, easy and fun especially if you make them surface swaps

backslides

sniper taps/ tail taps are extremely fun as well and they look sick

i’m in the exact same position as you and i’m gonna learn this stuff soon:

swaps

2 on

backslide longer rails

540°

if i get the balls, knuckle fronty

If you wanna throw down this spring, find a nice slush day and just huck the backie, theyre way less sketchy as you see the landing 90% of the time and arent terrible to bring around

Swaps were surprisingly easy to learn after I learned 2's out this year. Hike a rail for a couple days and you will dial them in.

Don't send a backie unless you get a good spot with lots of fresh snow. Hucked one this year on hardpack and thankfully didn't end my season but it was very much not the move.

For the life of me, i could not get corks on trampoline. I would always go flying off some direction and land on the ground, usually not on my feet. But one spring I decided enough is enough and started throwing corks on the park jump. Took a few days before I landed one but it was way easier than the trampoline. The soft spring snow made it totally fine to crash dozens of times and the most hurt I got was because my ski popped off and hit my hand

after learning back 2's out, sometime learning back swaps is pretty easy... also front swaps to k-fed aren't as hard as the appear once you figure it out.

Lmao @this

i managed to have an awesome end to my season, I could ski more but I’m good, so I’m not my miserable spring norm, plus the tone of the whole world seems to be improving which helps.

Every spring I love to throw a "F"ing fit!

Learn to slide unnatural, and learn to hit features switch. It will make you more able to hit any feature in any park.

Sweet Biff! Glad you got a laugh! Mt Bachelor will be going off until the end of May,

Let's hope all the virus stuff does get better.

I have not got it as of today, and my wife worked with children through this whole deal.

Knock on wood, and be good!

270 on looks insane to me, and I've been sliding rails consistently and confidently now for only like a month

frontswaps and backswaps also look sick but i have no idea how people dont just bang their tips into the rail when they switch up

definitely will give backslides and sniper taps a try this weekend though!

Safety slide, just get on the rail and bend over and grab safety, in my opinion there easier then 270s on and easier then backslides.

got it. will attempt.

its so easy for me to say I am going to try this, and I honestly hope I don't pussy out. I have 0 tramp or diving board experience, so all I know is jump—tuck—spot landing

I am actually practicing this. Just skiing switch has been made so much easier since I've center mounted in Feb.

Sliding unnatural—is that called lip on? I will give it a shot

Hopefully I can get a video of my best attempts at these for you guys.

Maybe don't go for that if you don't have any experience flipping, there's probably a good chance you'll freak out midway through and get in a gnarly crash.

Here’s a trick I love. As a person with Vishnu’s, you try to butter the whole sunny wall of the half pipe so you ruin it for everyone else. It takes some practice but it’s a fun trick.

Sliding unnatural means sliding with your right foot forward if going left foot forward is natural and vice versa

You could just carve up at mach1 and slash that shit like I do, like a roller blade grind, really fucks it up

Definitely something to consider tho if you’re not comfy flipping yet, maybe find some tramp time somewhere before. But if you do wanna go for it, make sure to set with the hips strongly and pop and tuck, rather than just hucking backwards and hoping for the best

can confirm, I have safety slides dialed but can't 2 on and I think backslides are terrifying

Someone else already clarified, but if you slide right foot forward, left foot forward would be unnatural and vice versa. But there is also natural and unnatural lip, which your tails go over the rail (if you are right foot forward, hitting the rail from the left instead of the right).

So learn to hit rails all ways, regular and lip, natural and unnatural, switch lip and switch tails both ways. You'll be boss soon after.

thank you so much. I been studying Slvsh cup games to understand the names of rail tricks but it just wasn’t panning out :(
