Wets vs Wides

Im buying either wets or wides, what are pros and cons of both. Im an east coast skier and I only care about how they preform in park and on random jibs. Which should I get?

wides will feel more stable at speed, but will be slightly stiffer and have a higher swing weight.

If your pure east coast, and don't have a preference on wide skis on rails, id get the wet. You can't go wrong with either tho

if you want thin skis get wets if you want wide skis go with wides, they're damn near the same feel from what ik. Just one skis more stable.

Have wet + and regular wides. They feel pretty similar. Went with the wet + coming back from an ACL tear and wanted a thinner ski than anything I had. Felt better after a few seasons and went for the wide since I left my ARV 106s over in Germany for our annual trip. I’m sure regular wets feel somewhat softer flex. Skinny and soft or wide and a bit stiffer is your choice. I don’t think you can go wrong either way unless you really prefer a certain width.

Right now Im leaning toward wides because I already have a pair of bent 85 and I think I want a wider ski, Id also prefer the more stability on jump landings, the only thing Im worried about is a higher swing weight and overall weight of the ski, is there a big differnce?

1750g for the 170 bent vs ~1950g for the wide, less than half a pound. Wouldn’t worry about the weight. Go wide if you like the idea of a wider ski that’s still fun like the wet with a bit more support. 100% happy with mine.

I’m in a similar situation as you. I’m in the Midwest and pretty much only ski park. I’ve had both wets and wides and I prefer my wets. The extra stability on wides is nice but feels unnecessary for my type of skiing. Unless you are hitting some bigger jumps I’d go wets
