yo

just moved back from CO this summer and will be living here for the next few years. i live in the western suburbs of minneapolis, and i've been looking for any urban spots i can find while driving wherever, but im not having any luck. I'm not really an urban master, so im not looking for a 50 ft quad kink, just a straight rail, or a mellow dfd, with a low bust factor.

any suggestions?

well spots seem to be going fast. Many of you may have know that the smaller "lower" EHS dub kink was broken last year by a snowboarder, but Koskinen just mentioned to me that the larger "upper" dub now is knobbed. More and more people seem to be catching on it seems, and they seem to be either knobbing them, chaining, or are just flat out right making it not possible. It may be from a combination of messing sites up and leaving snow everywhere, being rude to cops or local residents, or just a negative resembelance and being sterotyped as a reckless punk.......either way it cant help.
This past season we were at a rail literally across the street from my old house when a adjacent neighbor called the cops. We were polite, and she was just nuts, it happens. But the cops rolled up took both of of our stories and literally told us we could stay and for her to go inside. We left just to be polite, but it goes to show sometimes you run into cops who are nice........but after atleast 10 other snowboard sessions went down on that rail last season needless to say..its now knobbed. RIP St. Anthony elementry down.
there are a good number of rails in the west metro, not the bes,t but a good number. cops seem to be a lil tight though, dont know sreets off hand though

They put back up the mellow smaller EHS rail but it's nubbed now along with the big one. If that rail got shut down it is truly a sign of the times, and the times they are a changing. We used to slide that rail after school and laugh at the cross country ski team practicing on the fields down there while the coach looked at us like we were punks, but we never once got booted, even when snow plows drove by they would just watch. The poplar elementary rail has been gone for a while now. B Film speaks the truth that common courtesy and good behavior while skiing on other people's property works out best for every crew trying to get their jam on while leaving a spot untainted for future shredding.

there is a sweet urban rail behind byerlys it is a down rail slides real fast. its the one is st. louis park.

has anyone ever tried the rails on the front step of the st. paul cathedral? probably a stupid question cuz it'd probably be like 99% chance you'd get busted your first five minutes there. but i drive by it every time i visit my aunt and it taunts me endlessly on how perfect it would be..

Weiler and I scoped it out 2 years ago when it dumped like a foot and a half one night. Now one was one the roads, and cops had bigger things on thier minds. But it was snowing just too hard, absolutly no vis. That was the year we got two dumps of 1+ foot snows and literally nothing else all year

Well to be honest rails around here have just started getting knobbed a lot more within the last few years. Unlike say SLC where alot of urban has been ruined years back. And is not just the new "fresher" rail, progression has brought more technical tricks to easier make able rails that have been around.
New rails are being built, but, the majority of them are being constructed in a way that it makes them un-slideable.
I think it is kinda a big deal. Yeah, not a whole lot that can be done about it. Im sure if a crew is respectfull, it wouldnt hurt.

I'm by no means urban savoy, but this is way true, all the new rails i find all have multiple gaps in em and stuff..

wayzata west and east middle both have a couple rails. There's always the bridges by general mills

also I vaguely remember there being a rail at meadow park not sure if its hit able at all

While we're on the topic... Anyone know where the "rail gardens" are? I don't want to give the cliche +k... but +k for anyone who can lead me closer to finding these sacred grounds of urban.

here's a screenshot of a minnesota represent show facebook post

Alright I'll look around, from the videos I've seen it looks like a park. But based on who goes there and the looks my guess would be isles?
