It seems that the rules for the contest gave each team very little wiggly room with their edits, and that is why them all seem to be the same(lame).

It was a big let down watching these edits. Yes the skiing was on point and sick but the edits were just so bad to watch. Mostly due to the music and the obviously forced shots of that pos pov cam, I dont blame the teams( they did the best they could) I blame the rules.

So for next year how about changing up the rules and giving the teams some room to work to make some great edits.

How about you write us a up a little proposal to what you would have done differently.

Your mixing things up.

Quick overview of WCS this year:

- Way more people then last year

- Great weather

- Park was sick

- Two filmers per team

- Steve won MVP

- Tommy E jump was really cool

- Everyone that was in the event had a fun time

- Everything went really good

People dont like the edits because of a more complex reason, and it wasn't because of casual product shots, or limiting vulgarity in songs. Your just dumb for thinking that.

The more complex reason is the amount media that is available, good cameras, sick riders, and slow motion. If you dont have new/different tricks, comedy, or a different approach all together your not going to stand out. Your edit gets lost in the 100s of Breck, Key Stone, and PC edits you see a season. Five minutes is a long time for pure ski porn, and that's why 2 of those edits really stood out.

Its up to the filmers and editors to keep it fresh.

This helps prove what really goes on at WCS. Just a lot of positive vibes. Nothing really needs to be changed in my opinion, but i honestly can't wait for next year's videos.

Really could care less what everyone on NS thinks, but, prize money ($4,000) was put up by Camtrol / ION, who also made the rule about the product shot and pov shot. I thought all the edits were rad and I had a great time being apart of this event, can not wait for next year!

dont know why everyone is giving OP shit for this, i think the WCS edits would have been way better if they had been the "crew vs crew" format like orage masters, JOSS, and last years WCS. something that would allow every crew to have a unique kind of theme and vibe. (ex: the difference between a TC episode and a 4bi9 edit) i dont see what the problem would be changing the teams into crews or a somewhat organized grouping. dont have to change any of the contests fundamentals just make it so theres some more variety than just a ton of sick skiers at hood.

Yet, OP, you need to understand that all of these filmers work with what they have (regarding cameras, footage, and editing software) and they steal, borrow, and reinvent. That's the way it rolls in the freeskiing industry.

I loved the edits. they were all good. The reason we watch edits is to see dope skiing. And in those edits we saw dope skiing. nuff said. The editing and filming is a far second to me. If you don't enjoy watching raw skiing then you can go fuck you own face.
