West coast ski prep

I'm flying out to tahoe next week for the first time and its been getting dumped on. Having grown up almost exclusively skiing ice coast parks I dont really know what to expect or how to prepare. I was hoping to get some info on what to pack, how to prepare, and general tips to make the most of my stay

Planning on bringing my old armada Alpha X's. It's a park/all mtn ski, but its 95 underfoot and has a shape that seems like it would be pretty forgiving in pow/choppy conditions. I've heard freshly waxed skis perform better in deeper stuff but I'm not sure if I should even bother bringing them if demoing is the move. Also bringing my anytides-style snow pants. Theyre basically just a waterproof shell so I'm concerned that snow will get through to my boots and I'll end up drenched. Like I said I'm not really sure what to expect so I dont know how valid any of these concerns are. Any info would be appreciated

If you’re just bringing the anytides style pants, make sure you have some warmth under them, like a pair of sweatpants or a base layer pant. Also, if you have them, bring multiple pairs of gloves or mitts. Generally, it’s better to bring more layers than you think you’ll need, because if water gets through to something soft and not waterproof, it’ll be more of an unpleasant experience.
