West coast is so fucking lucky.

Skiing doesn't get too special until February anyway. I feel the anxiousness too, but my seasons always switch so fast it's kinda nice to enjoy the fall weather we've been having in northern VT.

I've grown to appreciate the East more and more. Personally I find our terrain more interesting than the West's and it's more challenging to be a good skier here. (Not to say I''m not looking forward to whenever I get to ski out west or that it's easy) But I really love it here and although it may seem tough at times, we do get lots of snow, and it's completely unique to any other area in the world, some of the best skiers have come out of here. A couple of pics from the season (you can tell the first one had no base but it was still epic). Rule of thumb for pow: Don't ski it if it's marked.

Well yes, I guess I should clarify that I am speaking about NY, VT, NH and ME.

Also do you just assume that judging on the terrain/snow or do you recognize the pictures? (if so that's epic lol)

Yea that snow sure is unique here in PA. Super wet and for some reason only falls when it’s 50 degrees. Sometimes we get so much it just makes all the other snow disappear at the snap of your fingers!!

you work at tremblant or what?

never heard of it, newly created or just in the backwoods?

Middle of nowhere, been around since the 70s I think, ik back in the 80s tblunt invested heavily into the hill, but nothing came of it. Now its more of a mtb destination than a ski destination.

One of the coldest experiences I’ve ever had skiing was mt tremblant in January. We also checked out Mt Ste Anne on that trip. I insisted because Charles Gagnier grew up there (apparently)

I don't really get this post. The first sentence obviously sets it up as sarcastic but the other sentences don't make sense... and obviously I wasn't talking about PA. I said Northeast later in the post, and clarified I'm talking about the Northeastern states in another post.

Just playing around. Sarcastically saying our only snow here in PA is rain. I feel you though I think anything south of the NY/PA border and anything north are two completely different ballgames in terms of snowfall.

Mb lol, i read it the wrong way. I was actually born in ol' PA. I would like to go skiing there someday as it's not too far, assuming the weather's good.

see, my point was right this is one of the best resorts on the east coast. We have insane shit out here but the average resort is nothing compared to the average resort out west.

West coast bros im down bad rn, help me. Pray for me. Haven't skied pow in 2 days. Dont know if ill make it. Its not always good out here, bros.

Oh I get it. I read it as those resorts were not good representations of what the East is like. I agree that the Western resorts are more impressive, larger and daunting, and in the eyes of most people are way better than the East. Me personally, I guess you could say I've just adapted to it here, I love it (still waiting for the day I get to head back out West though lol)

no way you filmed a landscape video while in portrait orientation

Pro tip of the east coast is pick a sport/hobby that overlaps with skiing enough that there's no period that it's too cold for one and too hot for the other. Gonna be 70º in Massachusetts this weekend. Wind is gonna be hammering out of the south so find me ripping swells in a sailboat.

bro meanwhile we finally got frost

I’d ski pvc on frost anyday.

this year PA got a dusting even before Bozeman MT or the surrounding mountains did (besides 10000+) this year. I was fucking butt hurt honestly knowing I coulda skied at home at Killington and ripped pvc before we saw shit. The snow is here now though but damn that was a painful start. Climates west and east just reversed two weeks ago I swear, east had the cold, and it switched.
