I sat on my ipod and broke the screen... my computer wouldn't recognize it when i would plug it in.. so i paid 100 bucks to have this fixed. all my music is on my ipod.. i don't have any on my computer. i got it back, and i wanted to put the songs onto itunes and before i could tell it not to, it started synching my ipod to the itunes (which had nothing on it).. so now my ipod has half of the songs it had 10 min ago.

There are softwares that can go in and recover those files right? Any of you kids know of some good free ones?

I've got a mac.

sorry bud, as far as i know theres no way to get music from an ipod to a computer if the music isnt already on the computer, they make them that way so you cant share music with other people.

There are definitely programs that do it.. i use iPod Viewer.. i just need a software that will find the 'erased' files on the ipod.

WIthout using a program...

- Open my documents, and go to Tools --> Folder Options. In the window that opened, click on View, and in the Advanced settings list, click show hidden files and folders. Hit ok, and then plug in your ipod (make sure it's enabled for disc mode). There should be a new folder called Ipod_Control. Go into that, and when you see a bunch of folders called F00 or F01, etc. Those are you music folders, copy them all and add them to your iTunes library. They should all appear with the names and whatnot.

But use a program if you want to use the songs outside of iTunes.

Crap, missed a part.

After you show hidden folders, you need to open My Computer and go to your iPod, then you see the Ipod_Control folder.

Yeah it's for PC. I don't know if you can do it on a Mac without a program, but if you can toggle invisible folders than you probably can. Your best bet would be google.

^althouh that works, its not what he's trying to do. That gets music off your ipod to your computer, he's trying to get the deleated files... sorry bud but im not sure how to do that one.
