did welch open yesterday like planed? if so how was it, i herd it was like 55 degrees in red wing.

P.S. im from Montana and im just curious to see, i went last year opening day cuz i was home for thanksgiving and they had 1 inch of base and 1 inch new snow.
 
i went, it wasnt too bad 2 runs open, a up/flat/down box, flat box, and 2 flat rails. i had fun.....
 
yeah it satisfied me for 6 hours ...

not to mention the sweet rythem section built by random kids on the bunny hill

i'll be out today...3pm 3:30ish

talk to me if you see me....probably the only one with the origonal red and yellow scratches.
 
im in Montana rite now so im not going, at least anytime soon, but i was just wondering since it was opening day, if i got to MN this winter though ill be sure to mention it...

how was the snow? was there a good base?
 
uh the base was alright some grass pokin out here and there, the snow was the typical welch shit but wutever its expected.

whats going on with welch. im heading there this weekend hopefully they got some rails or something set up. im riding either 04 1080s (green) or 05 1080s (grey/black)...and i suck so if you see me give me some tips
 
i'm with him. i'll be there saturday, im going up with the ski and snowboard club at the u of m and we're staying in their "condos". gonna sit in the sauna all night. haha. what a joke. gonna be kick ass though, nothing beats partying in your ski boots.
 
yeah, they're shitty as hell, 3 bed bunk beds? but its fun as hell, theres nothing better than being able to come right off the hill to a fire & a keg
 
hey, ill be there for the ski club too because im signing up because my girlfriend goes there, maybe ill see ya in the terrain park, im gonna try to have better stuff set up for the weekend
 
its not a 'lock in' per se, but ill be there around 10 or 11 to get all the passes. anyone need one for $17 that day? let me know. if you've got a season pass come on out whenever. we'll probably start drinking in the afternoon sometime.
 
i have a season pass, and im making the park there, so hopefully ill have some more stuff up for saturday, im trying to get in a few more flat rails and a kink rail, ill be at the meeting tonight at the u of m, maybe ill see ya
 
nice. i don't know what's already there, but you should try and at least get a little jump, that would make me very happy. and you'll see me, the beard is hard to miss.
 
right now they have a trapezoid box , a flat box on the ground, a 8 ft. mailbox, and like a 4 foot box, its lame
 
The flat rail is really nice right now, but thats about it. I can homestly say thats the best I've seen a rail set up at welch since I've been skiing.
 
i'll be out on saturday..probably like 10 am till 2....

then i got to go watch the girlfriend in her basketball game...then im bringing her out after it at like 6...

should be a good day.

also, there is now a really good line of two rails at welch, its a flat down to a flat rail, its actually really sick! me and the rest of the welch crew set it up the past two nights, its definately probally the best set up around right now, not gonna lie
 
I wouldnt be surprised, that flat rail is set up better than any rail I've ever seen at welch, if the kink is just as good its gotta be sick, too bad I'll never make it past the kink.
 
the line is so good right now, the only draw back is that is all the good rails they have right now so we can't make it better till they get more
 
k, we have a flat down and a flat rail set up on pads and its bomb, you can 270 disaster the down and like do float 450s off the flat rail, its really neat!
 
sick shit, I'm pretty stoked to see the down handrail myself, and the up down, I dont know if I need a flat down any bigger than the current one, and how big on the next flat rail, logner than shit?
 
you better still be around at 4...im sure someone could snag you a free ticket...

shouldnt be that hard i do it for my girlfriend when she goes...just have a local talk a buddy thats working into using their pass...

well thats what i was assuming would be done, but the fact it got taken out raised the question.
 
you should go there and help with the tables it looks like they are attempting to build to make sure they are done right...

it looks like they said screw the half pipe and they have 4 table looking jumps started....

but who knows what welch will make?

maybe some insane rollers?
 
hell ya...the rails are still holdin strong..

the flat down could use a little work on its pad though...

from people who just ride the flat and side off and create nice huge indents and pack it down..
