Not sure how to handle the switch.

- skied (3-11) high intermediate

- snowboard (11-20) advanced / clinician for new instructors at mountain

- ski (20-?) head on into park

im like super stoked about this and im not sure if im going tooo overboard with my excitement. It's still preseason and ive been going at this for awhile.

i have a great relationship with a freestyle coach who wants to take me through this all and have me throwing 7s by the end of the season.

am i sounding stupid here or should i be stoked on this opportunity.

- be honest -bleh

I switched from snowboarding two years ago and it's been super fun. Given that you have a background on skis, and also already have an understanding of edge control from snowboarding, you'll probably learn really fast!

although having 4 edges instead of 2 can be hard to get used to, and ski boots are not nearly as comfortable as snowboard boots

Good news is your edge control is going to be amazing. I did this transition as well!! Treat every day as an opportunity to learn and have fun. :)

yesss - something good haha. I think imma take the babies out this weekend when my boots arrive :D

i switched from snowboard to skis 6 years ago, or something, and the progression was smoother for me. learned to ski as a child, boarded in my late teens, early twenties, and been skiing since. i think it comes to comfort, some people got a knack for snowboards, others skiing. your first few runs might feel awkward, but with a little pointers on stance and not steering with your upper body etc you should be set and comfortable soon enough to slay.
