i have no idea what to write.

“Consider something in your life you think goes unnoticed and write about

why it's important to you.”400-500 words what should i say?

pick one of the little things within skiing that go un-noticed but help to create an awesome day of shredding.

for instance get real poetic about:

-the stoke level while gearing up

-the warmth of the lodge after a long day

-boot-gasm

-gentle falling of fresh snow

its 400-500 words, thats like what a page an a half at most? shouldnt be too hard.

Other than skiing what about you is unique? You need to come across as smart and funny and memorable all at the same time. When reading through a pile of essays you want the admissions officer to remember yours in a good way.

My advice: don't write about skiing. Pick something else about you that is unique.

Talk about something small that you've never really appreciated before, or an action/behavior that you see in others. Random acts of kindness?

I wouldnt say to absolutely not to write about skiing, just make sure whatever it is you choose isn't too general, and instead, is specific enough that you can go into good detail without trailing off topic. which is why I listed my suggestions and not just "skiing."

i don't think i would be able to go into detail about that. i saw someone's essay on essayform that was about exactly that lol

thank you all, still looking for more ideas

considering its so subtle it always goes unnoticed? :D

there should be plenty of stuff you can choose from. All those small things that make you unique as a person.

Its tough to say because its your personality and I dont know you but

-talk about music if you play an instrument

-something about any type of art painting, photography and stuff colleges like that.

-you can talk about volunteering or helping other people.

-say people dont notice that you work hard for your grades (if their good)

-talk about sports if your in any.

-inb4 skiing is your passion

Ty to avoid the stereotypical stuff. The admissions people read hundreds of essays about volunteering and grades and sports and stuff. You want to stand out in a good way, not be another par for the course.

now i have 2 ideas, still open to others tho-well designed objects

people tend to ignore the designs of everyday objects but some are eye catching to me. not sure if this is good because maybe many others do notice these kinds of things?

-indulgence

whenever i let go of myself in a certain area, like academics, keeping in shape, etc, i find it hard to get back on track. to be a better person, i should have a tighter self discipline. and i can use how i gained 8 pounds over winter break from eating too much as an example

what do you think???

Brushing your teeth.

Important because it keeps you healthy and if you don't do it statistically your life decreases by 6 years.

haha that's the very literal, bold way to go. could actually work though if you write it well enough, though; you always hear stories about kids who did weird stuff on their college essays and still get accepted.

and, as some other people have said, don't talk about skiing. especially if you have already written about skiing elsewhere in your app.

maybe a hobby you have that you are care about but aren't very vocal about/keep somewhat private?

i take pictures of my poop when it's a banger? then i sort them by date and also sizedoubt the ao is gonna like that tho

i say go for it. worse thing that can happen is you don't get in. but would you even want to go to a school full of people who don't appreciate the fine art of chronicling your poo's?

Dude you're in college its 400 words if you really can't do this you need some serious help, shit should take you 1-2 hours max, get off ns and just get it done

Write on your perceived internet anonymity, and how it came back to bite you in the ass when you flaunted illegal activities. That would be perfect for you.

Just make something up that sounds interesting.

Maybe you like to watch the growth of the trees in your street as you walk home from school. Lol

i decided to go with the design one. thanks yall

Yes. Sadly, I think the thread got deleted. It was some of the most fun I have had on NSG in a longggg time.

I would talk about how smooth my walls are. Never gave a shit before, but this summer I took down wallpaper and filled and sanded those motherfuckers up right. I've probly brushed my hands across 85% of my walls to make sure they're smooth before painting

People are way overthinking this. All they want to know is if you have a hobby or skill or whatever that you really enjoy/are passionate about, but not a lot of people know about or you don't think they notice.

Do you play an instrument? Write music? Write stories/poetry? Film stuff? Volunteer at the soup kitchen on weekends but tell your friends you're out getting drunk so they don't judge you? Hell, Supreme kids could even write about how they follow the "streetwear game" and are passionate about buying unique clothing/shoes that other people probably would not notice. Do you collect anything? The options are pretty limitless. Just come up with something that you think stands out and makes you unique that not may other people know about you and you're golden.

Really? That's a fucking cake walk.

Turn of your computer, your tv, hell even your phone if you have to for a few minutes and think. What is something that matters to you that you think goes under the radar. An issue that people don't know about or don't care about, a passion of yours that other might not know about.

and 400-500 words is a easy.

If you can't do this you're in for a rough ride buddy.

The essay is about your life not mine, I can't tell you what to right. This is a short paper with a RIDICULOUS amount of freedom.

Just turn of your computer and do it.

Exactly easiest shit.

Instead of making a thread and asking for ideas he should have turned off his compy and thought about it. You can pick anything.

I could probably write a 100 word based off whatever information is in OP's profile and have it done before he even settles on a topic and starts writing.

Bullshitting essays is the best. I try to keep it somewhat reasonable though.

Like one for the English regents in high school. Topic was something like "How has an increase in literacy helped the world?"

I wrote this massive essay comparing comparing a person learning to read to a caterpillar climbing into a cocoon. Something about coming out into the world and spread their vibrant wings as they soared across the sky. Hope it gave the world color and opened so many doors and a bunch of other stuff.

It seriously sounded like it needed a heavenly light to shine out of the conclusion. They fucking loved it.
