Weird ankle thing-NS doctor?

Alright, so I've got this weird thing going on with my right anklebone on the inside. when i apply a small amount of pressure with my thumb and run it from the heel side towards the toes (just on the ankle bone) it feels like theres an excess of fluid inside the whole joint/bone thing area or whatever. It's not tremendously painful but it hurts after a solid day of shredding. I noticed it started happening after I would go skiing last season, and assumed it was because my boots did not fit properly. They were 4 seasons old and packed out as fuck so this season I got new boots that felt a lot better, but the weird ankle thing came back after my first days skiing in them. It goes away after about a week of no skiing, only to return as soon as I ski again. I'm just wondering if it's something I'm going to want to look further into because it would get worse, or if I shouldn't worry about it. Also wondering if other people have something like this and any solutions?

My guess is a ganglion cyst, which is synovial fluid from your joints "leaking" out of the joint(s) and forming a cyst or a "pouch". This isn't not harmful, most likely caused by trauma. If it is this the doctor will drain the fluid from the cyst. If the cyst (or pouch) keeps filling up they may decide to surgically remove the cyst.

I had the same thing back when I played soccer, I had it drained 3 times then removed, if it is a ganglion cyst you dont really have to worry about making it worse or causing any long term damage, its just a bitch for now. But you really should have it looked at by a doctor.

thanks man. best answer yet. I'm probably gonna have it checked out after all I do pay for health insurance for a reason might as well use it. just wanted a general idea of what it might be so i could maybe take a look around the interwebz for more info. thanks again though.
