Weed legal in Canada in less then 90 days?? maybe

wrong wrong wrong wrong. Yes you can get away with it if ur lucky, if not, you are being charged with a criminal offence... seatbelt is a small fine. do you understand what crinimal offence means? far more serious then any traffic fine.

i fucking lol'ed

then i read your other post

"Except the fact that Canada won't except millions of Americans..."

and facepalmed.

how contradictory could that asshat be? "when people buy from the drug trade they support violent crime"----EXACTLY thats why legalizing it cuts the violence out of the system, because these violent drug gangs dont exist anymore. For fucks sake it isnt rocket science. Plus i bet Mr. "Drug free life" has drank some form of alcohol before, a drug much worse for your health nonetheless.

im pretty sure harper mumbles half the time or the mic they're using is just shit

either way it makes me laugh when he says "even if these things are legalized, i can predict with a lot of confidence, that these would never be respectable businesses, run by respectable people"

umm harper, buddy, have you seen some of the medical dispensaries in the US? they are legitimate businesses, not some fucking shanty where people are smokin crack and dealin weed. they vacuum the floors, have tills, have employees, have safes. the only difference is their product, not how the business is run.

Update: Going through an appeal, should reach a decision in november, maybe. Until then the old laws still apply.

my homie and i were talking about this yesterday. we smoke regularly, usually 1-3 times a week, we get our stuff at a good price ($80 for oz. of BC Bud, lil more for better strains), we often smoke in public, carry joints behind our ears, etc. etc.

basically we smoke a lot wherever and whenever we want already, and legalization would probably just make the price we pay go up, so we're a lil bit against it. i mean, i really couldn't care less either way, but legalization probably wouldn't benefit me.

This is a common argument against legalization. I thinks its valid, but morally speaking, i just think its wrong that people are prohibited from doing whatever they want to their own bodies/minds.

the way i see it it would be cheaper because it could be grown out in the open without any expenses of hiding it, nor would they be running a risk growing. if it was stores it would cut out dealers and middle people less people means less cuts means its cheaper?

for you all arguing price change...

common sense says that once something is made legal the price will go down, because it wont be on the black market, wont have any legal risks envolved, and will be easier to obtain. theres no way a plant can actually cost more ounce for ounce than gold, its just a rediculous artificially inflated price because of the black market.

with that being said, theres no way it costs even close to $5 for a pack of cigs(just an average price), or even a $1 for that matter. but because of the health issues, the government has taxed it to make it more expensive. if the government and general population legalizes weed, a big idea is to tax it because it will gain revenue for struggling economies/govts. what will affect price change is really how much the government decides to tax it. on the east coast its obvious price will drop, but for BC and western states, I really dont know. that is if its legalized.

imo im not sure whether id want it legalized or not. I mean itd be nice to save some money if the price does drop and have it be easier accessible, however im not sure I'd want the government growing my weed and rolling it up for me. you dont know what its grown with (which is the real problem with tobacco these days), where as right now as a medicine it is controlled and certain measures/inspections have to be taken to sell the product. accessability makes no difference to me, because right now my roommate goes to a dispensary and picks up my buds. so I dunno, Id be down with keeping it medicinal.

If you want to legalize weed you have to be taken seriously. Bums with no job on couches are not taken seriously.

Educated people making group decisions such as to "switch drugs" in order to achieve a long term goal would be a far more efficient, and likely faster way of going about it.

I love my pot. But I would give it up for a couple of years if it meant I could then enjoy it legally for the rest of my life.

Sadly we just aren't that organized.

aka

Never gonna happen :(

the stores are the dealers and i doubt they would grow their own. there would still be a lot of people involved in an operation like that, i obviously don't know whether it would be more or less expensive to produce, but i am positive they would tax the shit out of it, because they know canadians would suck up and pay for it, like we do for everything else.

either way i doubt i would be getting an oz. for $80, i'm guessing it would end up being somewhere around twice that if weed was legalized.

you need to realize that not everyone gets that price though and you are extremely lucky hahahaha

There are only two countries on the planet with legal marijuana use (not counting medical use). Holland is not one of them either. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

oh i know that haha. regular price for an oz. here is $120, but even then i think legalization would increase that price.
