i know i wont get TO much help out of NS. but we might have a few Website developers here. i want to make a website where anyone can post pictures, and everyone can see them. i also want to be able to delete the pictures that should not be up, like pornography or other items like that. Just like on NS where people will post a picture and the whole community can see it. anyone know how to do this?

if youre not to experienced, get joomla and look for some free-scripts picture galleries to implement them.

with joomla, the whole site is pretty much set up and you only have to delete stuff you dont need. you can let people create member accounts pretty easily and post pictures in articles without even adding something, but that might not be very convenient.

but for that you can implement a script/plugin to get a better picture gallery

maybe there are easier ways, like you can make forums without knowing stuff on websites, so it might be possible, but then you dont know anything.

but for this, you just need a php/sql server like xxampp and install joomla.

both take probably 5 minutes each. pm me if i wasnt clear

Joomla is wayyyyyyyyyyy to much for what you want to do. There are many image only cms' but I would suggest wordpress. Simple, lots of documentation and of course it's free. Message me if you have any specific questions. I do this for a living.

I second the Wordpress suggestion. There are plugins and themes for pretty much anything you would want to do.

Also, it's pretty self explanatory. I would do this for you but I'm pretty busy running my own site right now.

You're a real big jerk Heath, you know that?
Kidding.
Well aware that flash is outdated. Just stating the ease of use.

If u have all the adobe software use Fireworks to design the pages and the create the links with dreamweaver. You can slice boxes out of the pages and import flash files aswell for the photos. This u will have to edit almost every day but u can completely re-design and/or change the website whenever you want.

dreamweaver is a decent program for creating sites, you just have to know how to code

dude for the site you want to make, dreamweaver not only wont work (cuz you dont know how to code, so even if you make it visually in fireworks you cant put in the code for people to post pics). get a freaking wordpress like snowcase said, hes my business partner and a pretty damn talented web developer. Also, I'm a complete web-design ritard and i made www.dailyshortreport.com a fully functional site using wordpress with 0 web design knowledge. Ask snowcase for his discounted hosting (he leases server space) and hell probably install wordpress for you if youre on his server. Then all you have to do is add a image posting plugin. just google "wordpress image plugin" and youll find what you need, it will be a one click install and youre done. boom, website.

i know, i have used dreamweaver for multiple projects at this point. But theres not many ways to make a good looking website in a couple clicks like WP, but theres a hell of a lot of ways to fuckup.

well i would buy a space on his server if i had money, and i wasn't under the age of 18. so pretty much no credit cards, or any of that stuff. but you bring up a great point about word press. and as ive been messing with dream weaver i haven't found shit with it.

Coding is not hard. In my web 1 class we had to use a basic text editing program like notepad to create a CSS/HTML webpage. Then we got into WYISWYG software. I like expression web 4 better then dreamweaver. Although i have them both.

There are tools, but why would you want to get around it? I mean to understand coding as a web designer is very very important. If you fuck up somewhere you need to know where to find it.

Wordpress.org is free or I can host a site in trade for a referral as long as it doesn't eat up all my bandwidth for my paying customers.
