the new yorker came out with a story that talked about a secret meeting between several billionaire liberals, including George Soros, in aspen. The purpose was to 'use their fortunes to engineer the defeat of President Bush' Theres also been a lot of controversy over the millions put into 527s. Just want to hear what people think, or if anyone even cares, I mean this is NS and I would get more attention with a post with said 'fuck kerry'

It means something to me when a whole bunch of billionaires get to together consiring with eachother... It's different when you use your money indivdually to support a cause, but when several people get together in order to sway a vote it's an entirely different thing. Although... If the voting process is as secure as they say it is they could spend their entire fortunes in pursuit of thier goals, but when it comes down to it, it will be the voter, from the poorest person, to the members of this interest group that will make the decision... It's sad how people feel they can control peple with money, well, you cam... But it's a sad state of being...

If they really wanted to sway the election, they'd offer all the non-voters 500 bucks to vote for their candidate. Immoral? Certainly. Illegal? Probably. But it's big business... what the hell did you expect?

By the way, when you cater to the rich as much as this admin does, and they're STILL against you, it makes you wonder... why would people who have so much to gain from a reelection want to get rid of Bush?
