WD-40

I made a box out of HDPE but it gets pretty sticky, so someone recommended that I put WD-40 on the box to make it easier to slide. Is that a bad Idea, if it is what do most people use to fix this problem?

WD 40 damages a lot of stuff like plastics and rubber, I could imagine it wrecking skis, turf, or even the HDPE. Then again I don't really know...

no idea, you could always try soap.
or wax it (candle) and put water on it, if you haven't already done that.

Does wax last a long time? We've been using soap for a little while but we're using a ton and our supply will run out soon.

i might be able to help man I used to make my own skate wax. Candles do work but all that will do is make it sticky. The best way to make wax is take some cheap ass candles and put em in an empty coke can with the top cut off, then melt all the wax down on your stove. Next take about 1/2 to 1 cup (depending on the size of the can) of vegetable or olive oil and poor it into the mix. Give it a good stir as you take it off the stove and let it sit in a fridge or something but not a freezer. I can make a batch for you if you wanna just cover shipping

hdpe + water should work perfectly....
keep a garden hose near when seshing, and sprinkle every 2 runs or something ....

try and keep the plastic as clean as possible, no leaves or dirt. like someone above me said, use dishsoap and you should be fine. also wet the plastic down every couple of runs
