Swix ch7 is a pretty good all around wax for average temps however if you live in the east I typically use ch6 or LF6 during mid winter, december through feb. There is something to be said for using the wax within the temperature range that is stated for, ie. wax is made for different temps, with different mixtures but the most notable to you will be that colder waxes are harder than warmer waxes. With that in mind if you are just skiing regularly most ballpark temp waxes will be fine. Overall if you hotwax a decent amount of times per year despite if it is hot or cold, you will notice faster skis, any wax is far better than no wax.
