Waterproofing ratings

i know with the drop of first drop line and the claims that 8k is just as good as 20k. well i think there might be truth to this.... today i was messing around doing a little skiing and sledding in all the snow we been getting here in Golden. after i got back from a good day of messing around i noticed that my saga jacket (20k) was slightly wet when my Oakley pants (10k) were bone dry. both of these are pretty much brand new so i don't think that makes a difference.

so idk about others experiences but i dont really think there is a difference between the two

it has to do with the material

and also, were you sitting in the snow alot? or were you rolling around on your upper body? if you legs were hardly in the snow, they arent going to get wet, if they are in the snow and your putting pressure on them, they they will get wet.

20k is better than 10k, but there are lots of variables that you need to keep constant

i would say i was about more sitting on my ass than laying on my back but there was def both and i know materials are different but still should the ratings still prove some differences
