WaterPROOF park gloves?

I've been looking at gloves recently because my current gloves tend to get wet. They were advertised as water resistant. I'm looking for a waterproof park glove. +K for suggestions
 
I want the gloves to be thinner because my hands get kinda sweaty in thicker gloves thus making them colder than before.
 
There is no such thing as waterproof, only varying levels of water resistance; stupidity is a good way to short circuit all of those levels.

haha i lost. Fine then, do you know of any very water resistant park gloves/mittens.
 
Marmot Spring gloves are about as good as you'll find.

If you want gloves about as waterproof as they come, Cactus SPG. But it's not a park glove, it's a beasty tough as hell work glove you can ski in. They don't breathe so well.
 
i'm in love with my pow tonic gloves.

they are not waterproof at all, however, they are neoprene(wetsuit material) or like it. because they keep my hands extermely warm on the wettest days.
 
Ok, real response time.

I would look for a high quality glove using gortex or similar inserts. I would take a long hard look at the new Mountain Hardware options. I can't remember the name but they make a thin glove for ice climbing, that is supposably pretty darn water resistant, and breaths quite well too. Expect to fork over quite a bit of cash though.

Keep in mind however, it does not matter how awesome and amazing the membrane is, the second you get snow through the cuff, it is over. This gets back to the whole stupidity thing.

The reason that I don't think you see a lot of gortex park gloves out there is that anything using gortex will be pretty darn expensive, just based on the manufacturing and design restrictions gore places on companies. Park gloves will have a tendency to get destroyed faster than say, some guy who only skis powder. Park skiers tend to do really silly things like grab their skis (edges) and fall, alot, non of which is very good for the gloves.

My recommendation is to go to your local hardware store, and try and find a good pair of all leather work gloves, with a lining of some sort. Get some hydrophobic grease/oil (Hestra makes some for example) and rub it into the gloves, than bake them in an ovan for a bit (be carful). update the grease throughout the year as necessary.
 
i swear by leather gloves, if you treat em right and wash em regularly with nikwax stuff they'll stay pretty much 100% water repellent :)
 
i use the leather Empire attire new york glove and i like them. they aren't really thin though, but since i have pretty sucky circulation and my hands are always cold, they work. they are waterproof though. the outside may get wet, but my hands are never wet on the inside.
 
forgot to say they are cheap. i picked them up for like 30 bucks on backcountry. not a bad deal imo and certainly better than paying rediculously high prices for gloves. some people need them or like super quality gloves, but as a park skier i just don't feel i need to pay that much to keep my hands warm and dry.
