Waterproof boots for around town

I'm sure there's a thread already about this, but searching boots gets an outrageous amount of returns.

I'm looking for a boot/mid shoe to wear and bike around town when it gets wet and slushy. I

I'm after something that is waterproof but doesn't look like I just walked in from the bush. Insulation is cool, but no steel toes. I know Forsake exists, but I'm not crazy about the way their stuff looks.

something like these

I got these last year. At first I was hesitant, as I thought they looked a little ridiculous, but they are actually pretty cool with jeans. Probably the best investment I have made in footwear.

sorry for dub post, how waterproof are they, and do they give you decent traction? i just need something that wont get my socks soaked on a snowy sidewalk on my walks to class

they hold up to how wet it is in Seattle... they are scotch guarded, but I do mink oil on all my leather shoes too. and they have burly tread that does well on snow, but can sometimes be tricky on wet slick floors. get them, you'll be stoked.

someone downvoted some of the serious replies, super lame :/

thanks to everyone that has replied so far, some really cool stuff I hadn't previously heard of. Those vans are especially dope.

The vans winter collection like posted above are the best. They hold up great very waterproof. I usually treat them with a waterproof spray ever couple weeks just to be safe. Traction is great the bottoms are a bunch of little stud things. It's the opposite of normal vans bottoms. They can also be found for pretty cheap compared to what a pair of boots would cost.

I just got something similar at famous footwear for $40 today. Been wanting something plain colored for casual wear since my only other non work shoes are 2 pairs of KD 6's (blue crabs and DC's for anyone who cares) and a pair or purple flyknit chukkas. Waterproof leather is a plus, hope they live up to my expectations

Georgia Romeo boots, comfortable as hell, great traction, they have a low, mid and high version. waterproof, an best part is that there slip Ons And go with literally everything.

Just get a half size smaller than you need because they will stretch out.

This, working at North Face have some perks, The back to berkeley are nice too and about the same price

Aye definitely one of the best jobs I've ever had. Actually like going to work there.

Hey OP! Given you'll have these for a while I seriously encourage you to find a pair of boots that are number 1 super comfortable, this is by far the most important. Then maybe style or looks if you even care at all. After buying these non-waterproof comfortable boots buy some CREP PROTECT and spray them down. This is going to sound like an ad but my go does this stuff work well, google some vids or go to their website www.crepprotect.com.
