Washington ski areas

I'm probably going to school at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma next year. That, or University of Washington in Seattle. i was wondering what skis areas are around that that are worth skiing and where i should get a pass if i go there? also, how far are they from Tacoma and Seattle?

 
snoqualmie is an hour and a half from tacoma, and about 50 minutes from seattle

get the harbor resorts pass. u can ski stevens mission and sweitzer and its only like 250 or sumtin as long as ur a full time college stdent. thats what im rocking and its a sweet deal. u get discounts at whistler 2

 
yea but if you end up in tacoma, stevnes is gonna be a long ass drive for you

yeah snoqualmie would be your best bet if your looking for any park. if you don't care about park and wanna hang out with racers then maybe crystal.

Why is Crystal so bad? i've heard people say that it sucks before. I don't care too much about pipe and park, as long as good skiing is around. how far of a drive is Stevens from Tacoma?

i never said i don't care about pipe and park, but i would rather ski powder and lines than the park. If there is good skiing i don't need a park. If there isn't, then a park and pipe are necessary. simple enough.

hahahahaha. crystal has some nice terrain, but on the days when the snow sucks then you want park and they don't have anything there. if you come to snoqualmie then alpental has good terrain, but sometimes has long lines (on weekends) and central will have a great park along with west. east is pretty much useless though, there is only one lift there. (alpental, west, central, and east are all part of snowqualmie) summit-at-snoqualmie.com

White Pass is like 2 hours from tacoma. you get a little of everything there now.

Are some skiers trying to copy snowboarding?

If you're in Tacoma and want to only hit up Pow and groomers then go to Crystal. But if you want to hit up some rails and a little pipe now and then...go to White Pass.

If you end up in Seattle...well that's a tough one. Stevens is guaranteed to have more and better snow that Snoqualmie on a regular basis with a sick park...but it's a drive. Snoqualmie is closer and will have a sick park IF the snow comes....and Alpental is just plain badass.

Also if in Seattle...Then you've got the money issue...you do the research on that one...I'm not gonna even touch that one...that's your own deal.

As far as I'm concerned...go to Stevens....It kicks ass!!! Superpipe, sick park, good pow lines (in and out of bounds), and cool peeps. As far as some others are concerned...go to The Summit. The bottom line is do the the research and make your own decision. We'll all be at both areas.

But if you really just want to ride Pow then you should rethink your entire strategy and go to Baker.

So there you go....confusion at it's finest.............subliminal message (Go To Stevens..haha).

A piece of sagely advice....this is a bad place to get unbiased opinions. Hit a few of us up for our real input.

I went to UPS, it's a great school, and Crystal is real close. It's the best skiing moutin in Washington, If you want to ski the park go to someplace else, but if you want to ski steep terrain that rips Crystal can't be beat.

 
^except by baker who also has the record snowfall for the WORLD! but thats a little bit of a drive unless you live in Bellingham.
