Washington NHL team name leak

Sockeye refers to hunting and killing and I am horribly offended. They should have more options that are vegan friendly, like the Seattle Water Lillys
 
Should be the Seattle Metros. It pays homage to the most OG Seattle team of them all (way before the hawks, sonics, sounders, etc.) and to one of the NHL's original teams. The Metros won the stanley cup in the Original 6 days when the league was forming.

Totems are just going to make people angry and have them act like they care about indigenous people for a second.

That's cool af, I didn't know that. I'm on the east coast. I don't think they're technically part of the original 6 though

i think they were around just before the Original 6 formation but yeah they got a cup at least. Its pretty cool to say the least and the metros are way more fitting.
 
yeah i should have cleared that up, techincally yes one of the NHLs (what was the NHL at the time) original teams but not the O6 that we really know. it was brought on as an expansion team early on i think?

would have been really fucking cool to see honestly. Vancouver and Seattle would have a pretty fucking kick-ass rivalry if I do say so myself.

Yeah original 6 refers to the era when the league was just Montreal, Toronto, Boston, Chicago, Detroit and New York. There are defunct teams from before that time.

How incredibly ignorant and insensitive of you. It is indigenous peoples, not indigenous people. You are saying that they are all the same, without any respect to the different rich cultures, heritages, and peoples. You probably think people are all either male or female as well, and that gender is determined at birth.
