Your states bother tracking snowpact?

Yeah many western states do, it’s our water for drinking and agriculture. Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, South Dakota, and Alaska, All have them.

I know, just envious. Someday though I'll have reason to check these everyday. Someday...

its a good way to track the drought too, Washington will probably have a mellow fire year and UT is gonna burn down.

Lack of refreeze last few weeks of season was tough. Of course it finally froze for closing weekend.

Should be sick. Im in utah at the moment but im trying to get some features put in up top.

A few western states have had the driest 12-month precipitation on record. CA and Utah are in their second driest year on record. It’s not a good situation

Story time.

I moved to Kalispell, montana from seattle for some academic reasons august of 2019. I was pretty stoked to get to have some experience skiing in the Rockies, and while it ain't Bozeman with big sky and Bridger bowls right there, there's some fun stuff to ski around Kalispell. Unfortunately I blew my left ACL January of 2020 and had to miss the rest of that season. Fast forward to through the summer and fall where I miss what could've been a fun bike season but knee rehab didn't like the idea of that. It now winter and kalispell gets a few inches of snow right at the end of October, and I'm thinking to myself, 'damn, I might get a good early start to the season this year.' low and behold it barely snows at all in Montana for the next few months into the beginning of 2021. All the while I get to watch my friends back home and my home Mountain (alpental) get absolutely hammered with snow all throughout the season. Suffice to say I've been a little salty that I missed the biggest season for Washington in over a decade. Still stoked for all the homies that got to get pow days all season long, wish I could've been there!!
