Washing Skis

I was wondering this today when I was going through the car wash, could/would anyone leave their skis on their rack and go through?

On long road trips they can get quite dirty on the rack but i've never worried about it, just wondering has anyone done this or would do this

if they get dirty on the rack I just ski them and the snow washes all the dirt off

though it's good to wash off bindings because dirt can mess them up if it gets in the moving parts

I'm not sure if all that water inside the bindings is good for them. Also, if your skis have any major chips/gashes the water might screw up the wood inside.

I'm sorry, but you are an idiot. What do you ski on? Water! You don't think that every time the snow on your skis melt, or you ski through slush on a spring day that your bindings get full of water and the gashes in your skis get wet?

ahh yoo retaldid? big difference between some snow melting into a few drops of water and a pressurized spray directly into your bindings.
don't go through car wash with your skis, unless they're pocket rockets.

wow.... Im guessing you graduated before they had the no child left behind act? Im pretty sure you got left behind in like kindergarten.

How much force do you think is pushing water into your bindings when you ride through a slush puddle at 40mph?

I would more be woried about the rollars and brushes and shit. That could fuck your skis up quite a bit.

Just take a hose to them if you want them to be nice and shiny.

uhhhh, probably not that much at all compared to a pressurized hose. Also, your cars are on the top of your car correct?

Wow. Is there a contest for stupidest thread? This one is close.

-Water will not hurt your skis

-Car wash wax is not a substitute for ski wax

-Car washes clearly indicate that accessories may be damaged.

If you’re seriously considering washing your skis, on the roof of your car, in an automated car wash, you have bigger problems to worry about than how your skis will fair. You need to start worrying how you’re going to function in life.

FAIL

But dont let us stop you. Please, try it out, make a video, post it. Atleast it will be something funny to watch ... not just something stupid to read.

wow im kinda surpirsed that noone had brought up the detergents that they use it the water, That would be the only thing that i would be worried about. It could fuck around with the bindings and could cause any visible core shots to get dried out. And high pressure water isn't going to do shit.... think of ski races then and how fast they are going, Think of it raining hard when you have you skis on the top of your car???? I don't think that the water is going 140km per hour (yes i do drive fast /claim).
