Washing Gloves?

So i'm a dumbass and did not dry out my gloves and i took them out and they were moldy. I washed them with a little bit of soap and water, but they still smell. Are there any special ways to wash gloves or get the smell out?

They have mold in them. Regardless of the care tag, at this point, I would risk using the washing machine and dryer. It probably wont hurt them a lot. Mold could potentially hurt your hands, or chances of ever picking up a chick at the mountain.

I used to throw my gloves in the dryer. And doing it once never caused problems, just don't do it all the time. I'd you really care, hang them to dry. It will take a few days, but it won't mess them up. And you should be fine to put them in the washing machine

I've run my gloves (Dakine Cobra) through a regular wash, then usually run them in the dryer for 10 minutes and let the sun take care of the rest.

Never had a problem.

i have hestra gloves and wash them like their website says. 1) Dry your gloves at room temperature, avoid open flames, heaters, tumble- driers and ovens.

2) Gloves dry best in an upright position. Some models come with a carabiner clasp that, apart from keeping the gloves together, also is useful when drying.

3) Do not turn lined gloves inside out. The liner, insulation and membrane can be difficult to put back into place.

4) Gloves with a removable lining dry faster when the liners are removed, and the removable liners are also easy to wash. Dirt clogs pores and fibers reducing breathability. However, wool liners must be hand washed and dried on a flat surface.

5) We do not recommend washing leather gloves frequently. If you do wash them, put on the gloves and wash with soap and lukewarm water. Squeeze out the water gently without twisting. Models without several layers or leather can be machine-washed at 40°C or less.

Read the care label and follow instructions. Dry them outdoors when it's hot, slid onto something to help keep them open so that air can circulate.
