Washed-Up Skiers.

for fucks sake i know you were talking about Dumont, that post was entirely directed at you, Dumont is training for the Olympics, owns his own business, has another pro model ski suit this year and a couple of years ago created the "cubed" half pipe with redbull. He's not washed up you stupid twat

What the fuck do you have to do to be considered "not washed up" win the games every year? and if you don't your suddenly washed up? Yet if you do win you're a "future spinning winning machine" who is out of touch with the "true" meaning of skiing? plus dumont is one of very few skiers who has create enough of a business around his name that he can live off it. He is really fucking successful actually

no wonder there a few few pros who actively use NS

I thought I

would add a nice bright ray of sunshine to all the rain and cloudy attitudes on

this thread...Guatemalan Persuader...a legendary film...legendary skiers…what

is this washed up talk…?

Jon Olsson would finish in the top 100 in any worldwide competition in slope, pipe, big air, moguls, fwt, and wc gs. There are probably two athletes on that list, him and Candide, and Candide would probably win a wc gs if he gave it 15 days of practice so it isn't fair. If that's washed up I hope to someday be 1% washed up.

That segment was bad ass too! Slaying Corbets.. I agree concerning sponsors--it's ridiculous that Spriggs and Rainville are dealing with these issues. Two of my favorites taking that jib style to the bc

I agree with you 100%. There comes a point where you focus the effort you put into skiing into something else. Instead of landing a certain trick, you think about how you can successfully execute on x project, or increase y. I decided to get a career and ski when I can, and I don't regret it. Trying to be a pro skier can take the fun out of it. Especially when you're a struggling AM with zero hope of being "pro". :( jk.

And the industry pushes some people out. You get to a point where you still want to succeed and film and do this and that, but without support from a handful of other people, it's too difficult.

The only guy I even remotely care about that quite/left the ski world is jon brogan. I know he got in a car crash and shit, but even before that he was on his way out... which sucks.

This is the most outrageous thread I have read on NS. None of these guys are washed up. they have either retired or moved onto another chapter of their lives.

So many absurd responses in this thread. Guarantee most of the people listing skiers that are in no way washed up are 16 year olds who joined this site/ski scene within the last 2-3 years. Just because you don't see certain skiers in the spotlight anymore does not mean that they are in any way washed up. The majority are out there still killing it, still having fun in the sport they love.
