Just a note to anyone else that decides to see the flick. Personally i didnt like the film, it was a disappointment. There were about 40 powder shots, where they filmed it all the same. Zoom in, and 3/4 down the run, they zoomed out. Over and over. There was a stepup gap hit that was pretty sick, but even that was overplayed. If i wouldnt have gotten 4 free tickets (i got 2 goodie bags), i would be very angry. Just my 2 cents, what did you guys think of it?

yeah dude i agree, i thought it was a total waste of mone cause i only got one ticket, it straight up blew, they had like one seg of 3 minutes that was ok, and it was just ok, nothing spectacular. personaly i think that waren miller is going out of style, there were less people there this year than ther were last year, and attendance seems to keep going down. they need to either modernise or figure something out quick because less and less people are showing up, i dont think im gonna go again next year. but all the old people that me and my friend were by thought it was amazing, i guess its just in the eye of the beholder. oh yeah, and the guy that they had doing the giveaways here is colorado springs was a big fat fag, i wanted so bad to punch him.

guys its a warren miller flick. thats how it is every year. people rippin up powder and a complete disreguard for money in all of their shots. i thought some of the high deffenition shots were quite amazing. and the movie was cool, but yea it was warren miller and not a L1P or something. the target audience is older skiers not kids that hang out in the park all day.

 
smuggs has it right, similar to tgr, but u cant dis warren miller, he is the innovator of this, so maybe his movie doesnt appeal to you, and im sure it wouldnt to most people here, but im sure its a good movie

The movie was ok nothing great, it seemed to me that almost all the freeskiing shots were purchased from other companies. They were good shoots but I had already seen most of them. and The audaunce was just a bunch of fags. They all got overly excited when the one guy compleatly straight lined that run in montana.

 
im not a fan of this movie. The step up was sick, but not even close to as good as journey.

yeah, they all freaked out at the one that i was at when that guy did that straight line, i was like ooo wow you can go straight down a hill your sooo cool! not dissing on him im just saying that those people were to excited about just that. it also pissed me off because they had the footage of that one guy last year at keystone jib fest, when he tryed to jump that snowmobile over the unmakeable stepup, and slamed into the cornice and broke his back, every one was all laughting and shit, i was like 'dude, that aint funny that dude broke his fucking back and is paralyzed for life, if it was someone you cared about, you wouldnt be laughing.'

^ i know i thought about that too.....but only for some of the parts otherwise it was him aka his company......i agree that there was a lot that nobody cheered for but ......that movie was FUCKING SICK....with caps....some of hte lines were fucking crazy....

Ha! This is rad.

I was actually a bit suprised when everyone cheered when I did that first weak ass straight line. Pretty much the snow was sooo bad and there wasn't anything else to do. The second straight line through the chute was kind of cool, but nothing special. I wish they would have shown that one only.

Pretty much Hugo, Chris and I were there for 12 days, and only got to ski 2 days. And those two days the snow was friggin crap. It was like 6 inches of the heaviest glop ever (it was like skiing mud) on top of ice. You could barely turn, let alone huck anything. I'm mean come on, Hugo was there, if the snow as half-way decent, we'd have seen some super sickness. Plus Hugo was less then a month out of his burly ass crash in Bella Coola (the last shot in yearbook).

I saw it in Toronto and i thought it was ok, like nothing special. But the one thing i dont understand was, what is up with the surfing part. the movie was ok up till then but then that just took the whole thing way down and the parts after it werent much better. But like if it wasnt for that i think the movie would have been a lot better.

 
Tru....Warren doesn't film anymore. But his son Kurt is handling shit and Warren still does the comentary. You have to remember...every film targets a certain type of audience. Warren Miller films target the more 'cultured crowd' of the industry and the mass market...people that just like to watch skiing. The people that are either long time skiers or weekend warriors. There's more money in the mass market.

you have to go into a warren miller film knowing your going to see warren miller style footage...dont expect it to be the next MSP. I actually enjoyed it on a different level than i enjoyed TGR or MSP's films

i saw it but i thought journey was better. although abma's seg was pretty sick and there wasn't too much that amazed me cause i love powder shots but there was so many repetitive shots like that it almost took the joy out of it
