I think they are still good. I have a bunch I recorded off of Starz. I' rather watch lvl 1 PBP, or MSP though.

I find Warren Miller films are classic and a better mainstream way to show what skiing is about. I mean in his film , you get to see the whole picture and travel the world. It's about skiing in general. where as the PBP,Msp,LvL 1 is about the sick newschool movement.It's all about the terrain park, the rails, urban and huge big mountain. they are both good, but I dunno none is better just different.

 
His movies are aimed to a much larger ski segment than PBP, Level, or any of the other freeskier vids. He captures the true essence of skiing and conveys it very well to the general public. I would rather watch the other vids, but he does a great job narrating and storytelling.

Warren Miller is the original ski film producer out there. His movies have been around for decades and it's almost impossible to compare them to all the films coming out these days. I love watching all the jib films, but the WM flicks cover everything and that's what I love so much about them. I love all the ski films out there, but Warren Miller's films will always be my first purchase every season.

Does anyone know anything about new stuff, I saw his movie journey in theater last year but haven't heard this year. Also journey on dvd? Gradually more and more newschool but wm will always be wm style. They are less and less boring don't bother with box set though you've seen em all

Well just and FYI

Warren doesnt own the production company anymore its actually owned by AOL Time Warner (he sold it to his son in the 90's and then Kurt sold it to AOL Time Warner). I am sure he is under contract/agreement, to still do the narritves but I dont know how involved he is, if any, in the day to day operation.

I think he spends most of his time up at the Yellowstone Club.

he was the first person to properly exploit sponsorships and people to make a killing off the sport.

he may claim to love skiing but im willing to bet he doesnt give a shit.

Im glad he put 2 minutes of good skiing in his new film though - unfortunatley it was unbalanced by the other 50 minutes of skiing - its like he is trying to make skiing look lame to the general public.

I met him a few times. He is a pimp. I love his movies because they are something different from all the jibber films. His films show many aspects of the sport and not just the newschool scene. Granted I do love the stuff from PBP, MSP, etc. But WM's stuff is classic.

yea warren's voiceovers do kinda suck and so does the music, but the skiing is killer, their film crew is TOP notch, and they are starting to see that freeskiing is a big movement in skiing and they are recognizing that. Abma has a killer seg in the new warren miller flick this upcoming year. warren is still killing it and deserves mad respect for what he has done
