Warms the heart.

This just showed up on my facebook, and it's a photo of a man I work with coming home to his daughter after a grueling six month deployment. It makes me happy to see this photo of my friend coming home to his family, and knowing what he went through. I don't really know the point behind this thread, but for some reason this photo really stuck out to me. Not only because I know this great man, but it speaks so much about all the sacrifices he makes for his family, and this wonderful country. Enjoy, and feel free to share any photo that mean something like this to you too.

I see a lot of stories like this, and photo's as well, mostly because my dad is/was involved in that kind of stuff, but it really is heartwarming, a couple of friends from school are, and have enlisted, and may be shipping out soon, not necessarily to the Middle East, but out of state/country. And it will be a killer feel welcoming them back with their families and other friends.

It would be even better if the photographer didn't feel the need to take advantage of the advertising opportunity. The fact that the photographer stuck his/her name in the middle of the photo = LAME.

I like those pictures because it captures a huge release of emotion.

Separation from loved ones is always tough, and it gets even worse when you're going into a dangerous scenario. In these pictures it's like you can see months of stress, worry, loneliness, and whatever else...vanish
