Hey.

Moved to mammoth this past winter and loved it, so I will be there for the 2011-12 season. Looking for anyone who is there already or moving there that needs a place. Best timing would be mid-september to the first of october for moving in, but I could possibly manage the first of september.

I will be working for the mountain. Very clean respectable person, going out on weekends is fun, but like to lay low on nights before work. Prefer to keep the ruckus elsewhere rather than my own living space. Have a sweet home theater and video games out the nose, and listen to metal / rap / etc...open and respective to other peoples tastes as well. Headphones work wonders, and I usually only make noise when watching movies.

Hoping to do around 500ish a month + utilities and the closer to the mountain, the better. I'm out of the area until September but can do as much as possible to scope places and possibly even send payment then just move in once I get there. Would prefer a longer term lease (9-12 month) since mammoths season runs long. Month to month is fine as well.

Hit me up if you have a room or are moving to the area and would consider splitting a place.

Thanks!

Hey man,

I'm moving up to Mammoth in the next couple of weeks and looking for just about all the same things as you. I do have a dog, but she's quiet and easy to get along with.

If you're interested or have any suggestions please hit me back @ patricklaunspach@gmail.com

Good luck.

Patrick

If you have instructed before, you are pretty much hired unless you have a history of molesting small children.
Just assume you have the job and start looking. Ski school is pretty desperate.

Hey, when are you guys thinking of getting to mammoth? I'm heading there between Nov 1 - Dec 15 and just looking to live with some easy-going people that are about skiing and having a good time. If you're looking to get a place around then or looking for an extra, feel free to send a pm :)

I'm just going to give a heads up to you guys.
This has been the most DIFFICULT season yet to find housing.
A lot of people have lost their homes or cant afford them and have listed them for sale. Also, since people are less and less willing to sign year leases, they have upped the costs a lot or are requiring year leases.
I have honestly never had this much trouble finding something and our budget is pretty healthy.
We've put in something like 8 applications and 7 of those have gone to families in town.
So START LOOKING NOW and realize that you may have to pay for an extra month or so.
Or just book your spot in employee housing now....

yeah im gonna have to do emp housing if i cant find something in the next week or 2, alot of people ive talked to want to meet face to face before signing anything.

and mammoth is taking their sweet time getting back to me, had a guy call me today and said he was going to call back monday for another interview

Car Pool! lol im all sad after figuring out cost of gas driving out there.

On another note, atleast ski school called me back today and got a job as an apprentice instructor for the time being but have a call from the head guy on weds.

hahaha i dont even want to know how much money gas is gonna be. cape cod - california. ouch.

how long did it take for you to hear back from them? i applied for some hotel job and on mountain positions but haven't heard anything and it's been about 2 weeks.

^^ i called them friday got hired today at a lower level, now i gotta see if i can get bumped into a lvl2 cert job or teach teh 3-5yr olds all day and hate life.

And gas for me in a 20mpg suv is ~600 from buffalo _. mammoth ive done it once but went to tahoe last year. Moving out there 1st week of nov for good though. Will proally do emp housing for a little while and not worry about a 1yr lease till the time comes.

Avoid Mammoth employee housing like the plague if at all possible, its horrible. Line something up by mid to late October before all the Oz and Kiwi kids snatch it up by Novemeber. Another good local Mammoth resource for housing is talking to Mark at EscapeLosAngeles. He is a Mammoth local who's entire business specializes in locating landlords and rental properties for people in Mammoth Lakes for the season.

Good luck

Hey guys I got a studio apartment attached to my house that is open for rent starting Oct. 1st. It's $600/month plus utilities, which is just gas and electric. It is pretty small, but last winter 2 kids shared the place and lived super cheap. It has a small loft big enough for just a bed and last winter one of the kids used a closet as his bedroom haha. I don't care if you have pets thats fine and rent is month to month. PM me if your interested. Haven't even posted it on mammoth times yet so you guys have a jump on it. Also it is unfurnished except for a mattress in the loft and a couch.

i need a room/roomates as well.

me: snowboard instructor at Eagle lodge, 24 yrs old, pretty laid back, like going out but not too much of a party animal, not looking to live in a party house.

i found a few places, and one of my girls is moving out of a 2br+loft place at St.Moritz, if anyone wants to go in on this let me know.

Ok. So I think I have the perfect house.. I know it very well cause my friends used to live in it. I will seriously find a way to put down the deposit tomorrow if I need to.
Its walking distance to the village. Has a washer dryer. Wonderful kitchen. Has a wonderful bathroom. There are two smallish bedrooms and a larger loft. My friends had 4 people living there, I'm fine with 3 or 4. But I honestly prefer to live with other females.
So if you are of the female sex and interested let me know cause I'd entirely be willing to live in this house. Just need to fill the rooms pretty much today. I'll see what the latest move in could be.
