Evening,

My name is Mason, and I come to you asking if you would have any interest in getting a place me myself and my friend Paige (no, we are not seeing each other).

Background: Both students, I am at SAIT, going into my second year, Paige is at UofC and will be going into her 3rd year. We're both 20, I currently am employed under CBC, and will be looking for another job, where as Paige is job hunting, but has plenty saved up. And yes, we're both skiers, which would make it ideal for another skier to live with. I am from Golden, BC. And Paige is from Vancouver, BC.

Currently, we have one amazing place in mind (http://www.rentfaster.ca/calgary-duplex-for-rent/rosemont/3-bedroom-1-2-57980?r=L2xpc3RpbmdzZWFyY2gucGhwP3NvcnRieT1wcmljZSZxdWFkcmFudCU1QjAlNUQ9TlcmcXVhZHJhbnQlNUIxJTVEPVNXJnF1YWRyYW50JTVCMiU1RD1Jbm5lci1DaXR5JnR5cGUlNUIwJTVEPUFwYXJ0bWVudCZ0eXBlJTVCMSU1RD1Db25kbyZ0eXBlJTVCMiU1RD1EdXBsZXgmdHlwZSU1QjMlNUQ9SG91c2UmdHlwZSU1QjQlNUQ9VG93bmhvdXNlJmJlZHMlNUIwJTVEPTMjTElTVElORzU3OTgw). It would be $995 a month. Which would be split to ~$333. We are also open to other places.

In terms of duration, you can live with us during the summer as a sublet. Or can stay with us once school season picks up again.

Nothing is set in stone. We have looked at plenty of 2 bedroom places. Just thinking of how awesome it would be to have a 3rd person.

If you are interested. PM me, Paige does have an ns, but I'm going to take the housing stress out of her life and let her focus on exams.

Email is an option too, my email is mqgoodchild@gmail.com.

Please feel free to ask any questions.

Cheers!

Mason

Just checking in to say that I'm the Paige mentioned. I'm going to be avoiding the computer a lot during the next couple of weeks because of exams but feel free to message me if you have any questions. I should get on at least once every morning and evening.

Hah, I'm going the other way - moving in mid june from a 1br to 2br in Kensington. Haven't decided if I want a roommate yet though. Rental market doesn't seem too bad at the moment.

have you been able to find any decent priced places in Kensington? There are some 2/3 bedroom apartments down in Hillhurst for decent prices, and that's the best we've seen.

Depends what you mean by decent I guess, I mean there are places for ~1k. Obviously they get bigger if you get further from downtown. The place I'm gonna rent will be 16+. If I get a roommate it'll be under a k, but I might just use the extra br for an office or something, haven't decided.

damn.

Pricey. But, we're students. So looking at >$800 for 2 bedroom, or >1k for 3 bedroom.

And of course, closer and easier for transit, the better. I plan on taking my car from Golden and bringing it here in May.

I have this huge bookmark list of places though, hopefully, we get this sorted soon... Plenty of options.

Meh, I know people who live in Keynote downtown and pay about 1500 for 600 square feet of apartment. Now that's pricey.

Also, you're from BC, what bars will show the Canucks games with the sound on? There must be a couple of Canucks-friendly bars somewhere, the obnoxious lone dude losing his shit when we score routine is fun for a while but it'd be good to hear some play by play.

the bigger sports bars like schank's have them i'm pretty certain (plus you can play mini golf, woot!). as to anywhere more appealing i don't know for sure. i've pretty much accepted the fate of streaming them online with my laptop

I have centre ice for the regular season but watching playoff games at home by myself? No thanks. Yeah I'm thinking I'll hit schanks nw tomorrow unless someone on canucks.com has a better idea.

Ended up going to FATS in Kensington. Small place, lots of TVs, good specials, 20 nucks jerseys, a block from the Ctrain = winning.

Loco Lou's should have them when they are on, and I watched the first period in Boston Pizza in Banff tonight before coming home, so I'm assuming all the Bp's would too.
