This is a small update from Aspen when Jon is taking a look at the X games slopestyle being built!

Newschoolers, I am not hating, im not being a bitch, it's good. hahah

on a side note that big air jump looks wack...
 
The "QP" is a gap jump, they just have not built the takeoff yet, they are working on it right now, we were just up there, looks even better now..
 
I like the long as battleship box, looks supreme, so many options on that

The up box has a nice jump on but is way to short and I find it hard to spin out of boxes (maybe they want inverts?) I think a nice bonk or hand plant while corking would be sick

Jumps look fun, hard to tell how big, the massive one looks deadly - is that gunna be open to the public afterwards?

They need a down handrail to go along and more rails in general but it looks pretty sweet and skier friendly

ya jon! slopestyle is going to be nuts this year. that big air looks so deadly, i personally would shit my pants in the air if i hit it. haha i liked how he called out newschoolers, at least most of us here can understand that its "free"style and that people can do whatever they want.

There are a couple of things still to be changed.
A couple more rails are being put in and the QP is really just a cap jump like last years but they cut it to make it look nice.
Will give a more complete update on the finished course tomorrow!
 
yea i think people will see just how big and techy skiers are by just watchin em off that up box.
 
rails are no longuer cool enougth for skiing, boxes are.

jumps looks big, cant wait to see it .

hopefully speed wont be an issue for everyone this year.
 
I hope they throw in more rails than just those 2 boxes. Def need some larger rails with some gap possiblities so we can see some tech shit thrown down.
 
how about a handrail? no? not so much?

tanner was 100% right in ditching slopestyle when he did.
 
not feeling the set up. i like when there is a choice of rails to do. last years course was my favoirte. plus i like a jump rail jump combo thrown in. makes the skiers think more. last years was better.
 
the thing for this year is that the slopestyle is going to be a double flip comp that's why there are doing the jump bigger and with more pop for doubles
 
^that makes sense, im not sure i like it though, either way isnt speed always an issue on the slopestyle course at aspen? an that big air jump looks wack, not only that but the landing look super narrow, porbably just the camera angle
 
Oh come now, rails are being put in as we speak, and the jumps have almost always been the most important part of the course.

Also, X-Games is for the peeps who think that watching snowmobile racing is exciting and interesting; there aren't going to be millions of people watching who appreciate the nuance between a lip 270 and a switch hardway 270 off on a rail, IF those were even brought to the table. Oh, and this year there won't be 20 switch tens as the only eye candy.

Why the hate?
