Ive been snowboarding for 12 years and when i tried to become good at riding park i struggled with various tricks that i had practice over and over again. so now i want to try and turn a new leaf and try skiing. i have some idea of wat to do i just want to know wear the best place to start is. plus wat i cout do this summer to get ready.

Take multiple lessons.

Don't try park until you are comfortable skiing most trails.

When you do start skiing park don't spend 100% of your time in the park.

Knowing how to ski with good form will make learning park stuff easier.

1) buy park skis

2) throw park skis away

3) buy all mountain skis

4) ski all mountain

5) have more fun than park skiers

6)????

7) profit

go ice skating. It sounds stupid but it will be easier to switch to skiing. it will also help you get used to the feeling of moving forwards instead of sideways.

learn to actauly ski first. Don't do park right away

He's right,

dont do the snowboard mentality of 3 days then park. Park is where the experts go. If you went sideways on your edges down a black diamond that doesn't matter. It's all about experience

Don't listen to this clown, you won't get used to how long your skis are, and you won't learn how to use your edges on snow.

1. Burn your snowboard and hail your skis.

2. You need to be a good skier in general to do park, things like balance, no fear, good air awareness.

3. Don't spend all your time in the park, hit the groomers and some pow.

4. Take your time, don't try shit like 360's on your first day.

5. Don't be dick skier, have respect.

6. Watch other people in the park and watch edits.

7. when you get good search through NS for some threads like cork 5 help, cork 3 help and stuff like that.

hope this helps.

You're going to have to retrain your brain and completely resent snowboarding in all ways. The good news is that thanks to recent breakthroughs in science you can easily achieve this. I would recommend starting a strict routine of smoking large amounts of weed (

Ice skating would help forward balance tho since he stands sideways...also roller blading would help more I think

That clown has a valid point, skating would be helpful with edge control and turning. Ever wonder why ski instructors lick the chops when they get an ex hockey player?

You actually are right. Ex ski instructor here, though i wasn't licking my chops at hockey players we did definitely employ the idea that on flat ground you roll your ankles left and right and feel the skis turning... just like ice skates or rollerblades. This really is a core part of shaped skis, understanding where your edges are.

Also, fuck the haters. If you want to go into the park day #1, fucking go for it. You'll learn proper technique eventually.

The single most important part of learning to ski is to go skiing a lot. Enjoying the process assists with that greatly, and forcing yourself to train and practise to be the best every day harms that.

Just go the fuck out there and have a blast doing what you can. Learn from others, take lessons, go to summer camp.

in the end, no matter if you learn to ski normally before park, or go to park on day one, repetition and practice is what will make you progress. just get out there as much as you can and keep it up.

Learn to ski first... Get your double blacks down. Then get into park skiing. Make sure to get some twin tips too..
