as those of you avid members that browse the M&A forum, i recently got a 7D..I know I have asked some pretty noob and stupid questions regarding my experience and a camera of this calibur, but i'm quite satisfied with the shots I got today.

just spent about an hour walked down by the creek, capturing numerous 3-8 seconds shots that i'd like to put together...

all i have as far as editing goes, is whatever is on the MAC...(iMovie)

anyone recommend something (preferrably downloadable/torrentable ) or relatively cheap.

I'll post the video in here once I'm done, hopefully it uploads online alright without any confusion.

*just opened up iMovie after i imported 23 different shots i captured...all ending with ".mov" but i can't add it to my "New Project" ???

FUUUU

imovie is a suprisingly decent little editor for being free. its no fcp or even express, but itll get the job done.

id suggest learning on imovie or final cut express, i think youll be overwhelmed if you start out on something like final cut pro or premiere.

yeah. imovie is very odd with that.

but i would say mess around with imovie for a few weeks and learn the basics of editing, and when you feel like imovie is holding you back and you want to do more, then make the move to final cut or premiere.

i think i shot my video in 60fps and i notice a bunch of camera shake as well :( is there anyway to make it more smooth becuase its at such high fps and fullHD it looks like Avatar quality on Blu Ray and kinda weird...im exporting it now at 640x640 i think, instead of 960x___ whatever it was..

your fps and resolution wont lead to the jumpiness thats just not having a real steady camera (you can correct some of it in post but then you are going to lose resolution or get blurring. idk what you are filming on camera wise but getting a well balanced handle or steadicam, or even just a solid tripod will help stabilize.

ive used just a tripod before when i had nothing else, and itll stabilize the shot surprisingly well
