Want to download Premiere but don't have multi core processor....

Am I just shit out of luck or is there anything I can do? I was pretty set on wanting to learn editing on Premiere instead of Final Cut, but if thats my only option then I guess I'll make do.

I've got 2 year old Macbook Pro with 2.7 ghz Intel i7 processor, if you want to know anything else just let me know.
 
what? i don't think premiere NEEDS four cores to run... Just download it and try, should work fine.
 
Oh herp derp its my operating system, needs to be OS X 10.7 or 10.8, I'm still running 10.6.

Who ever asked I tried downloading it and it just said my computer doesn't support Premiere Pro and to check the system requirements, thought it was the processor but I guess its the OS
 
Then update it. I just took mine to a computer store and they updated it for cheaper than what the software costs.
