Hey Everyone,

My name is Sean and I'm the new park manager for Hockley Valley Resort in Orangeville. Up until now the park at Hockley has been far from satisfactory but this is all going to change this year. We are adding up to 8 new features including a wall ride.

On this note we are looking for new diggers.

In exchange for helping maitain the parks you get a free season pass, free food, and get to be a part of an amazing team of employees.

If you are interested please PM me or post here!

PS. Stay tuned for a massive big air comp going down this upcoming season!

I personally don't like wall rides that much either, it was our resort managements decision to put in a wall ride.

But hey, come join our staff and help input on things we can make and build.. I'm always down for a sick setup!

The big air comp will be held in March. There will also be a slopestyle a week or 2 before the big air.

We are looking at a 30 ft' step down for the jump. I'll post more details as they are confirmed.

I would deem a 30 footer a medium sized air. But I gotta say, this sounds impressive for Hockley Valley.

If you have ever been to Hockley...

We are doing the big air on JP. It will probley be more than 30, we just want a smoooth transition though as the hill is a black diamond and the top pitch is steep. Depending on the amount of snow it could be 50 ft by the time we are done.

Also, we will have a good sized slopestyle also on JP a couple of weeks before. This event will have 2 lines with 5 features in each and a massive QP at the end!

If anyone is interested in helping with the competitions or has any advice for the parks other than "make them better" please pm or post here!

Well, anyone who has skied hockley can agree with me on this, the flat-down-flat rail has the worst angles ever. It's rediculously steep. Like, unslidably steep. Something like that is hard to change though without making a whole new rail... But Hockley could use a better rail selection anyways.

Completely agreed, that rail wasn't designed well. We are actually taking it apart and changing the angles on it as I post this.

Also, we will be adding 3-4 new rails and a giant S box for next season :)

sounds like its gonna be legit.

make a rythem section of like 3 really nice 30-40 footers in a row. no park in ontario consistantly has that.

fuck beaver had a line of like 7 jumps from 15-45

Looked so pro. i wish i could have rode it but i was the lone park rider there for one day, not worth it for me :(

What does everything think about having a single day where lift tickets are like 15$ for day+night and the park has its own lift so no lines.

Dj's would be spinnin and a bunch of companies would be there demo'ing shit

Umm, i think that would be off the hook? $15 for day/night lift tick??? And DJ's?? And a private lift? SHit son.

word. it was sick (i ride at beaver). and ONTARIORIPPER, the landings weren't that flat. yes, they could be steeper, but u make it seem like they were "as flat as kansas wheat fields", which they definitely weren't. if beaver could put a bit more money into their park, and spend their money on actual GOOD rails, not impossible short steep triple kinks, then the park could easily be SICK

yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes.

you admitted te rails suck...

but serious that landings suck

ya i know that the rails suck. they should invest their money into like 4 good rails, instead of 8 pieces of shit. and they don't set anything up urban. if they set up that long yellow rail urban style that could be prety sick

they did at the end of the year exept it melted and was like 6 feet off the snow. and i hate how they have 2 df's

ahren just be happy you had a decent park to ride.

talisman had a bunch of local redneck fucks that knew nothing about riding let alone park design building their park.

the most i ever saw these guys do was sit at the top of the park with shovels next to them hacking butts for the better part of the day. one dude rocked a baby blue one piece, unfortunately he wasn't doing it as a fashion statement.

had i had time to ride at beaver this year while not absolutely frozen from being on that judges stand i would have been stoked.

i know the new owners. hopefully i can get in there part time and help whip it back into shape. hopefully a little more than those ignorant rednecks they put in there last year

it has its good days,a lot of bad days though. Only super pipe in a private ski club in canada jea.

hey man don't be taking away alpines pride and joy.well theres the "super" kink but it didn't get set up this year.

we would but we dont have a run at the moment that can hold that hopfully next year we would be able to cut a intermeadiot/expert terrain park on the back side

sry fo my spelling

If you just need Pre-Season work done, contact me, I'm always available to come down to Hockley for occasional work. Let me know!
