Before you flame on the topic of this thread, I just wanted to share tom's response to a question about afterbang in the newest issue of Freeskiier. I think it really validates the style a lot of park skiiers are adopting, and make a lot of sense rather than just afterbanging to look like a hood rat.
Question (FS): You are the afterbang king. Was this a conscious effort, or is it just how you ski?
Answer (TW): That's definitely a big issue, i guess. I try not to consciously think about it. I just like to ski as comfortably and smooth as possible and one of the things that goes along with that is solid landings. The ting I always try to do with my skiing is make it looks as effortless and smooth as possible because that's what I think is fun about it. It's kinda something associated with what I do, but good landings have been around forever. It's definitely not something I invented.

I don't know, when I read that I agreed with everything he said, and really appreciated the fact that he didn't act conceited or offer up some other bullshit answer like "it's just steezier, yo". Thoughts?

tom is definetly changed in the last year. i think since hes got so popular he wants to set a good example for kids. his segments arent so gangstar and he his t's arent as long. in that same interview he told the world why not to wear hoodies past your knees

While I miss that style, I really think he's improving his own PR and image into one of the leaders of our sport. Props to tammy wahllnutz. But seriously, I'm impressed. He's a really quality athlete now, instead of just some steezed out park rat
