Walking Dead Season 3 Thread

so glad dish got AMC back, last night's episode was tight. They just better not drag the whole prison thing out too much, although I anticipate they won't once andrea and whoever that community leader is find them (or not?)

I would definitely do it, the comic book is so good. I read the first compendium right after the second season and it didn't totally ruin these past two episodes. You have a better Idea of what is going to happen but the tv show does not follow the comic book exactly so there are still surprises.

Also the comic book is at least 5 seasons ahead of the tv show(if the tv show makes it that far) so you might as well start reading sooner then later

yeah It should be interesting. was the food totally divided or is the inmates share still in the cafeteria? seems like rick would have cut their portions now since there is only two of them.

I don't understand what pony tail was going to gain from killing Rick though. Was it just to keep all the food and medicine to themselves? or is there something deeper with the inmates and the prison?

i think the two inmates left will turn out to be bad news for the ricks group. shoulda killed em all.

but damn locking that dude in the yard with those walkers was harsh. ricks starting to really take control and do work

yeah I almost wish I didn't know about it until the series is over so I could watch them back to back on netflix. hahaha

Theyll play a role in the plot definitely, I dont feel as though theyll join forces though. They seemed like OK guys as compared to ponytail, but I dont think theyll join the group.

haha, yeah that's how i watched the first two seasons. they were both done by the time i first picked up the show and it ended up taking me like two days to watch all of them. wish i could do that with season 3, but no way am i going to wait until it's over before i watch them.

and i dunno, i think the new guys are going to fall in to place. i think it'll be rough at first, but ultimately some greater evil will bring them all together and cement their place within the group...for a little bit at least.

Yup, thats Merle. Excited to see how he will play out. Im going to assume Rick and T-Dog might be a target.

Its going to throw a great twist as his brother is an established and very intricate part of the group right now.

I'm interested to see how it plays out. I can see something big going down where Merle ends up dead and Daryl is forced to decide whether he wants to turn on Rick and the group or stick with them even though they most likely would be the ones to kill Merle, should it happen. Is it Sunday yet?

Does anyone else find it ironic that how Rick is now turning into Shane? Like Rick was always being critical to Shane's way of thinking and logic. But now that he is dead he is now endorsing Shane's ideology. Obviously it is the right move imo, you gotta be ruthless if you wan to survive in that type of world.

My roommates and I were talking about this exact same thing. He is turning into the badass he needs to be.

Also in the last scene it was like he couldn't even look at lori. I'm thinking there is going to be some upcoming tension between them.

Shane thought he could do no wrong, Rick still questions his own judgment and feels guilty about damn near everything.

On the other hand the remaining black prisoner seems like he'll be good for the group. Don't really trust the crazy long haired white dude who just started shanking zombies like a psycho. Only into "pharmaceuticals" my ass.

That was funny when he was properly just stabbing the shit out of the zombies stomach hahaha.

I'm really interested to see how they bring Merle back into this and how it pans out.

Don't want shit to happen to Daryl, he's probably been my favourite character so far.

they seem to have an interesting sibling dynamic. the episode where Darrel fell off his horse and got stabbed with his own bolt showed some of that relationship. Darrel hallucinated his brother helping him to climb up the cliff and there seemed to be some tension. Also sounded like a poor parenting situation.

Darrel is a pretty sweet character. just a straight up no nonsense guy. total bad ass.

Am I the only one that things Carl should have died? I cant stand him.. Hes basically useless to the plot other than when he was sick.

He's rad for sure, totally love him and my fave character. If there is a zombie apocalypse I want a Daryl on my side.

last season i would have totally agreed. This season he is completly differnt "so far". Hes becoming a badass, killing zombies, goes out on his own to find medical supplies. He will probably still have a few good fuckups tho, it's kinda expected.

definitely gonna have some problem with the 2 guy they left and I wonder when they're going to go outside of the prison.also, when merle is going to show up? it would make this epidsode epic if merle was in there

for real. by far my favorite character in the show. if they kill daryl off, i'd totally quit watching this show. ok, that's a lie, but still....he better not go anywhere any time soon.

this episode is super similar to breaking bad as far as characters go. That scientist studying the zombies is just like gale, even the way they talk is exactly the same. Also the governor is the same as Gus. Seams like a calm normal guy at first, but there is definitely a big secret that he's hiding

that was a weird episode, didnt get what went on at the end with all the heads, something isnt right about that place, but dont know where its going to lead to with the whole plot....

this part in the season is interesting, because it kind of stays similar to the comics but definitely has some major twists, like killing those prison guys so quickly and having merle in this community. brace yourselves though, shit's about to get weird from here on out

Ok governer is corrupt, but hes also fucked up. Why is he keeping all the people there when he just goes out and does all that shit?

Not if they "join" DA GOVENA's group and attack from the inside out. Think Trojan horse. At the moment though, I don't think he would allow Rick's group to join. Would probably execute them like military men.

Wishful thinking. Can't wait till he's dead though. The military execution scene pissed me off.

yeah, that pissed me off, too. it was a tad unrealistic though. i mean, he goes up and shoots the guy in the shoulder and then just stands there while his 5 other guys that are all 100 yards away supposedly take out 15 ish Marines with m16s...as if no one would have gotten a single shot off at him. yeah, yeah, i know it's a zombie show and you can't expect realism, but that shit just looked WAY TOO EASY.

the governor is fucked though. i'm interest to learn what this tea is all about. also, wtf was up with all of the heads at the end? especially the fat dude on top. they seemed to emphasize that one as if it has some significance of some sort.
