Wake boarders of NS

wake boarding is one of my favorite sports in the summer. i am lucky enough to have a decent wake board boat and someone willing to pull me whenever i want.

so i wanted to know who else on new schoolers wake boards. if you do, what kind of boat u use, what kind of board you ride, brief trick list if you want, and if you have an edit of your self post it!!

for me:

2002 Calabria cal-air, fully fitted with fat sacks

2012 hyperlite clash, system bindings

tantrum, whirlybird, scarecrow, front flip both sides, spins up to 720 both sides, air rally, and others....

still working on my edit

I have a Liquid force 2012 Shane Hybrid for my board, with Watson bindings

Although my boat is more set up for wakesurfing, it creates one mean wakeboarding wake, even with no ballast it's perfectly clean on the riders left side, and with ballast, you can get just as clean of a wake on the right side

Boat stats:

2012 Tige Z3 (Alliance wakeboards boat of the year, if I remember right?)

409HP 6.0L Vortec V8

Wetsounds 'tower of power' with the premium amp system, and two 10" speakers and two 8" speakers

Speedset (tige's version of perfect pass)

Ballast:

400lbs up front

total of 1700 in each corner in the rear

I don't wakeboard, but i water ski. My friend's got a 21 ft 1990 wellcraft with like a 309hp volvo in it. Doesn't have a wakeboard tower but it gets you out of the water pretty quick

haha, it is very nice, I love it

also forgot to mention that you can hear the music from the boat crystal clear when your riding, which is fucking awesome when you want to get jacked for a trick

i don't do as much wakeboarding as I used to. spend more of my time barefooting. i've got a plethora of boats at my disposal including a couple of nautiques, a couple of mastercrafts, a supra, my malibu, a single rig 225 hp hydrodine, two different twin rig 225 (so 450 hp) hydrodines, and a triple rig 250 (750 hp) hydrodine.

water sports are the fuckin' shit.

Only way to go is a Malibu, maybe a newer Mastercraft...Other than that, lame. Wakesurfing is sick, wakeboarding is pretty sick too.. We just got a cable park passed here. But that's because most of the water sport companys are up here, and it should be pretty sick!

im riding on a ronix vault, anyone got any good DIY on how to make a tower and ballast system using as little money as possible

i have a hyperlite board, want to learn 3s this summer, but another really fun thing im into is wake surfing. Its really fun and is actually better than wakeboarding in my opinion for just riding, no tricks

Its my friends boat that we use

i dont have a DIY but my dad and i bought either 1.5 or 2 inch pipes and fittings and borrowed our neighbors tubing bender to make a tower for our chriscraft 210. final installation and assembly we did in the boathouse because we had to adjust the height so we could still drive the boat in and out, but the top piece unbolts if the water level is too high. the tower looks factory though, the guy at the marina gas pumps told me he "never knew chris craft built a wakeboard boat"

basically just measure your boat side to side, and get a good idea of where you want the tower to sit, sketch some shit up with drawings and incorporate the measurments. our was like 80% eyeballed and it came out perfect.

as for ballast you just gotta start fucking fat girls.

i have floe bindings closed toewatson pro model board

and my boat is a 1955 chris craft ski boat, its not the best for jumping but i can pull 180's and stuff.

i want to buy a grind base board so i can go ride the tow parks.

I ride a ronix frontier with some crappy ronix bindings I got out of the bargain bin at my cities boat show a few years back. Im a lot more into wake skating/surfing than boarding, but its always fun to be strapped to your board every now and then.

As for my boat Im rockin a poor mans air nautique (pic not of my boat)

1990-1996_Ski.jpg

Its a classic 1994 ski nautique with a knock off air nautique tower, a 1100lb L ballast for surfing and two 350lb fat sacks for boarding. She runs like a champ considering the lifespan of most boats with only 470 something hours and a proboss 351 engine with gt40 heads. The nice thing about it is that unlike most ski boats it actually has a pretty deep hull making a nice poppy wake. I completely stripped and re applied a new gel coating to the entire boat too. It looks better than most 5 year old boats now!

Centurion boat I use and sometimes our ski nautique.Have a 2012 CWB Marius and Slingshot Bindings

SELLING CWB Marius bindings, check my thread, cheap

can do 360's and trying some tantrums and back rolls.

kind of, also cause my family is gonna be gone and im gonna be alone for a whole month, soooo i cant really get anyone to drive my boat. :P

Don't come at me. But srs we rode behind a 02 Malibu that was sick balls nasty and we were trying to learn stuff. Wakeboarding is too hard, I'm buying wakeskis!

a lot of my friends have good boats to go behind. I don't have my own setup but alway use theirs. Super fun to surf behind them at night though.

'07 Mastercraft X45

'10 Supra Launch 242

'11 Malibu Wakesetter 247 LSV.

I wakeboard!

I have a 2002 X-Star with stock ballast, 750lb in each rear locker and 400 in the front I believe.

I ride a LF S4 with Watson Limited CT boots, Inland Surfer Black Pearl surfer, and some OG bi-level LF skate that I can't remember the name of.

Best tricks are probably HS FS 7, whirlys, or crow mobes, but I'm not very consistent with the mobe. Probably not gonna get out as much as I should this summer due to work which sucks, but hopefully I can still get some solid riding time in.

Oh, and Mastercraft FTW. Nothing else even comes close. I've ridden behind SANTEs, VLXs, Wakesetters, Supras, Tiges, you name it. Nothing beats the wake that MC puts out. However, I must say, the best surf wake I've ever ridden was behind a Centurion Enzo 23, so that deserves an honorable mention.

One of the advantages of living in Arizona

I have this beauty I picked up this year....2011 Malibu Wakesetter

And I ride a 2012 Ronix Viva

I've done it at various camps and at friends houses and it's the shit. Such a cool feelin when you get up the first time. Oh and I can 360 lol omg so gewd

just footed about two hours ago. getting super close to the one foot, but finally got tumbles down both ways. can't wait for some glassy days!

My friends and I are a lot more into surfing and I prefer slalom than wake boarding as well, but it's still great to board about once a week! We have an 08 Centurion Falcon V which we put about 1850lbs in one side for surfing. Gets a pretty huge wave. Do most of our boarding behind my buddy's 09 Wakesetter, because all in all they have the best wakeboard wake.

Me and my two friends rented a boat, I don't even know what it was. But it took me an hour and I did a 180 ima probably go pro next week.

You own this thread. I carved it up last week on my buddy's new connely prophecy ski, got my butthole handed to me it cuts so hard. Then we broke the bindings off our byerly board nooooooo

Just watched this:

/images/flash_video_placeholder.png

Holy Shit! So sick, even if it was on skis it'd be sick!

That boat is unreal. An dwhy would you want to do anything but slalom behind a ski nautique. Best situation would be to have a boat like that for slalom and a decent wakeboard boat like an x-star for wakeboarding. And fuck anyone on here who says surfing is better than either skiing or wakeboarding. My grandma can surf without the rope while knockin back a natty ice. Reality is she can't but what i'm tryin to say is surfing takes little to no talent and its boring as hell sittin hours in a boat watching someone surf. just my opinion though
