Vw golf r

sick car! the best part is you can put a pod on top of a golf and the boot is still huge (for a hatchback), so you can carry all your ski gear. i can take 4 people in comfort to the snow for a week in my golf....but its not as quick as the golf R :(

but in all seriousness the interior is top fucking notch- 2.0tfsi that you swap out software exhaust and intake and you have north of 300 whp- and it comes in a four door as well

tbe r32 became the golf R. they decided that a 3.2L v6 up the front was too heavy so they tuned up the GTI engine to about 190kw and put it into the golf R. the r32 came in 3 and 5 doors.....im guessing the golf r does as well
 
Ok, makes a lot of sense. I've heard a lot of so-so things about the v6 engine. Looks like the Golf R just replaced the r32 as dream car status... but I'm more than happy at the moment with my mkV GTI :)
 
yeah, usa is getting 3 and 5 door, 6 speed manual only and 2 trim levels. canada's getting only 5 door with higher trim level.

And the mkVI r32 only had the dsg tranny
 
it did in australia. i know the mk IV only came in a 3 door but the mk V came in 3 and 5 doors here. dont know about the mk VI golf R. i reckon they'll keep it as a 5 door so that it doesn't canibalise sales of the scirocco.
 
Add TDI to that and you have one sexy car. I currently am driving a vw jetta tdi stick and it's pure sex. driving a stick shift is so much fun on a good car.
 
the vw diesels are soooooooo good. just make sure you use alpine mix fuel in it if you're driving to the snow. otherwise itll freeze and turn to sludge and your car wont start.
 
i mourn the death of the vr6 in this car.
the 2.0 is alltogether a superior engine (efficiency, weight, tunability etc), but i will miss the sound of god farting a swarm of angry hornets whenever an R car goes..
 
How much is it going to cost? I only browsed the thread, not sure if it was said in here already.

The car looks sick though. I've always loved the older R32s.
 
It's for vw people,34-36g's, 4 grand more than a gti and you get 0-100 in 5.5 seconds, 270hp, 4motion. And you get a kickass inteior and meaner body.
 
4 cylinders - it just sounds mincy..... I dont think I could give up the noise made by my 3.2 VR6.... that Rasp and exhaust note is just intoxicating....
That said - i do like it - and the fact a manual gear box is coming to the states.... but by 2012, my aim is to own something a little more... expensive and exotic! So i'll prob just hang on to my 08 R32....
 
that thing is sick! but if i were looking for a fast small german hatch i would get a 2006-7 audi a3 with 3.2 quattro

i think they only come in automatic....which is for women. a much better option is the 2L turbo quattro a3. it only comes in manual and its seriously quick. wont depreciate as much either and i doubt the insurance would be as high on it
 
damn thats fast! oh wait, my old ass outback with a broken engine mount can go that fast with five people in the car...
