Vw car questions

I've never understood the drive people have to do shit like this to your car. you are just wasting excess money on your car. unless you are going to be racing it or whatever just leave it be. you don't need to be another one of those pussy faggots that drives around with the load exhaust thinking you are the fucking shit.

Sincerely the guy with an old ass Subie and no money

Skiing is a waste of money too, you dont get anything out of it. Some people like to spend money and build their own cars. Stop being so close-minded...

if your are talking shit about volkswagen when you're driving a subaru wrx, then that's bullshit. I mean no one has those right? Or any subaru.

So you want more HP? I would look into basic bolt on mods like a cold air intake, full exhaust (including downpipe), all intercooler piping, manual/electronic boost controller, intercooler, blow off/diverter, and then a protune/etune.

How much would all that be?

Subbie gang or die

Intake is around $100

Full exhaust is probably around $800-$1000

Intercooler w/ piping is a couple hundred (only need if upgrading turbo)

Chip- Around $500

Shits not cheap

possibly the most misinformed thread I've seen on NS

then enlighten us oh car god!

tell us about your suped up ride with 2 cans of nos in the back... but be careful you dont want to blow the weld off your manifold.

Lol way to post ECS bro, their prices are fucking ridiculous and their shipping is slow as fuck. Plus, there are a ton of brands of intercooler you can purchase adn piping/clamps you can get. Posting 1 item from a website with ridiculous mark-up isn't proving any point.

Still... Any decent inter cooler isn't going to be 100$

Especially for a German car.

No, we're not talking about a 500hp car here. A cheap ebay IC will do fine and not leak.

Never said it was a $100.... But I'll never buy anything from ECS again when I found out how much they ripped me off. fuck that company.

And like I said before, you don't need a new intercooler unless upgrading the turbo, the stock SMIC works just fine.

Lol ok. They flow just fine for the price and have pretty minimal pressure drop

but nah, go spend $600 on the "best" intercooler for your 180hp car

what did you get ripped off on? ive bought a few things from there and its been pretty reasonably priced, in fact, cheaper after shipping that it cost to pick up parts directly from vw with a buddy's employee discount.

granted some stuff is more expensive and definitely not worth the price.

I haven't seen someone mod a stock turbo on an MK4 they just got and get a bigger turbo if anything or they just do other shit to make it quick.

funny thing is a bigger turbo doesn't always help, sometimes a smaller turbo is better as u get more torque right off the bat and just have better acceleration. Albeit it would be more likely to choke at higher rpms, a larger turbo isn't something ideal for streets and such, unless your gonna be speeding on the high way constantly, bigger isn't always better.

Pinch bolts. I ended up spending $30 more than two other VAG specific sites.

And just comparing prices for future purchases they have been the most expensive option.

shit dude, that sucks, ive found them to be be close to the cheapest, if not the cheapest option. new mishimoto rad, oem timining belt kit, buddies have bought h&r spacers, led bulbs, shift knobs, fog grilles, coils, and for the most part its all been the same, or just about the same as most other sites to my knowledge

yeah because they run small turbo on all 500+ hp cars...
